Package: wnpp Version: N/A; reported 2002-02-12 Severity: normal Piet Tutelaers' chess fonts and macros for TeX and LaTeX are the most commonly (only?) used metafont fonts for typesetting chess moves and diagram using (La)TeX. It is available from, for instance, ftp://ftp.ntg.nl/pub/tex-archive/fonts/chess. According to the copyright file "These METAFONT programs and other files are freely distributable in the spirit of TeX."
There is one serious drawback: the package hasn't been updated since 1992! The example files are, for instance, still for use with the old LaTeX (2.9?). The package itself works ok with current LaTeX. Becaue it still seems to be in use, I'd still like to package it. The main reason is, btw, that it is used by scid, a chess game database, to generate printable output.
