Bug#134915: ITP: openmosix -- A fork from the current mosix packages

2002-02-20 Thread Viral
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2002-02-20
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: openmosix
  Version : 1.5.4
  Upstream Author : Moshe Bar [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://www.openmosix.com/
* License : GPL
  Description : A fork from the current mosix packages

The upstream development disagreed on the current mosix package and
hence, there is a fork. The existing mosix development is closed,
thought I do believe that they still release code.

The new effort is openmosix. I intend to package it separately from
mosix.

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way,
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say.

Because there are 2 forked versions.
Some people might want to stick with the original, and others might
to use the new one.

I thought that the original mosix.com development might be closed from
now on, but that doesn't seem to be the case. So, I figured it might be
easier to just distribute a new version.

Currently, only the kernel patches are different, but I expect the userland
tools to start differing in a couple of months, and they would then be
2 different projects. openmosix aims to be a separte clustering effort with
its own direction in the future.
