Description : Linux Terminal Server Project

Linux makes a great platform for deploying diskless workstations
that boot from a network server.
The LTSP is all about running thin client computers
in a GNU/Linux environment.

Exactly what are you going to package?

Kernels? Description on how to create one is in nfsboot package.

ltsp_core?

ltsp_x_core?

fonts?

I'm a bit courious becuase ltsp is more like its own distribution
than a program project. :)

The next generation LTSP is being worked on. The current plan is for
LTSP to drop building its own binaries, and become more like
lessdisks. This mean installing a chroot using normal packages, and
only providing the scripts to generate the chroot and the scripts to
boot the client.

The LTSP is in close contact with Ubuntu, and it is likely that the
next official release of LTSP will be based on Ubuntu. Matt Zimmerman
is the lead developer in this effort.

On the debian side, me and Vagrant Cascadian are working on adjusting
the ubuntu packages for use in debian. Vagrant is one of the
lessdisks developers, and we use his knowlege to pick the best of both
projects when adjusting LTSP for debian.

The first version (0.48debian1) of the debian packages are now
uploaded into unstable, and waiting in NEW. A copy of these packages
are available from
ftp://ftp.skolelinux.no/skolelinux/pool/local/l/ltsp/>.
