It was never part of a stable release, so I agree.  If anyone is truly
interested in this software, they can always re-introduce it (ideally
after sarge is out).

IMO gg2 isn't release quality, and should be at least removed from Sarge if
not the archive altogether, based on #251960.

What do others think?

I believe similar functionality is available in other packages.

I would like to maintain that package.
The main reason is that, there is no such a clinet on debian yet that
can support all the feautures of Gadu-Gadu protocol, whereas gg2 can.
I prepared packages, their are available at
deb http://metro.lezajsk.info/gg2 ./
