Bug#330125: Regarding Debian Bug Report #330125

I will contact him as soon as I've read through all the (relevant) documentation about package maintenance at www.debian.org. In /usr/share/doc/toolchain-source there is an README giving an overview of how the tools are supposed to work, there is also an HOWTO, and there is man pages for each of the tools in the package. In the gcc source package there is debian/README.cross, which describes how to use the gcc source package to produce cross-compilers. As for debian package developement there is quite som info at http://www.debian.org/devel/. Please let me know if there is any other info you need, or if you want some more specific refrences. Have you any experience with debian package maintainance? This is a good start. I'll need some time to assimilate all the information though. I have no prior experience with debian package maintenance. I know there's lots to set up to be a registered debian maintainer and we'll have to work through the administrative stuff as soon as possible. I can, however, begin working on gcc 4.0.2 and learning the proper procedures right now. /D -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? I might be interested in helping out depending on the amount and resources of work needed. I'm maintaining the toolchain-source package used to generate cross-compilers. The native versions of gcc and binutils is maintained by others, but we try to keep the two in sync by generating the toolchain-source source from the native gcc source. The main thing that needs to be done right now is to move to gcc 4.0. This should be done by getting the gcc-4.0 source package to compile for cross targets and supply the gcc-maintainers with patches for that. After that is done, there is quite a few bugreports that should be fixed: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?which=pkg&data=toolchain-source&archive=no&version=&dist=unstable I am working profesionally with compiler development so I am familiar with that kind of tools and support. Please let me know if and how I can help out. Regards /Daniel Widenfalk Ok, that seems managable. I'll do it if you're willing to help me get started and pointed in the right direction.
