I use xfe quite a good deal, especially when sorting out some files. I
like the fact that it doesn't launch a ton of daemons (like other
managers that I won't mention here) and it does its job quite well.

Do you want a co-maintainer? I'm quite short on time, but we can
possibly coordinate our efforts on it (perhaps even getting it into
alioth, for cooperative maintenance).

Regards, Rogério Brito.

Bug#382268: RFA: xfe -- lightweight file manager for X11

2006-08-09 Thread Jose Carlos Medeiros

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I havent more time to mantain this package. If you want , get free to take it.
Description below:

Xfe is based on the popular but discontinued X Win Commander.
It is desktop independent and is written using the C++ Fox Toolkit.
It has Windows Commander or MS-Explorer look and is very fast and simple.
The main features are: file associations, mount/umount devices,
directory tree for quick cd, change file attributes, auto save registry,
compressed archives view/creation/extraction and much more.
Included are a graphical file viewer (xfileview), an rpm package manager
(xfilequery) and a simple image viewer (xfileimage)
