No, docs will go into doc-nonfree

Description : A powerful TeX format

ConTeXt is a typographical engine written in the typographical computer
language TeX. ConTeXt provides you with a convenient way to encode documents
in a structured way and to typeset these documents in various ways on paper,
computer screen or web site.

Use ConTeXt to create simple documents and complex layouts. From a single
source produce traditional paper documents as well as highly interactive
electronic documents. Combine text and graphics and other information in
your document in different ways. Move around, use and reuse information
and typeset in one or more natural languages.

This package also contains MetaFun. MetaFun (a superset of well known
MetaPost) is a powerful system for vector graphics that is fully integrated
into ConTeXt thereby reaching its full potential for the first time, but
also usable as a stand alone product.

MetaFun is not for interactive drawing applications and not for free hand
drawings. Its strength lies in the ability to enhance the document layout
with highly accurate graphics elements.

To me this long description sounds too much like marketing blurb and has
little information content. The most important question that it should
answer is what's the difference to the more known LaTeX?

It is time to get it into Debian I think. It was clear that it wont go
into etch, but I want to see proper context support in lenny, and
neither texlive upstream nor tetex has this.

Not that I care for ConTeXt, I am not a context user, but I want to have
everything TeX related more or less up2date.

Use ConTeXt to create simple documents and complex layouts.

You are heartly invited to write something better, it is all in our svn
repository. I am quite bad in writing stupid texts (better in writing
math) and I just copied the text from the website/description/doc.

Best wishes

technically that's hard to do when you don't know it yet ;) the fact
that the upstream's website is poorly worded is not a very good excuse.
I've read the .pdf manual, and to me it's still unclear why context
should be better than the good old latex distro ;)

PS: you made a mistake the web site is .nl and not .com

Just googling around I stumbled on this document titled LaTeX in proper
ConTeXt:

  http://www.berenddeboer.net/tex/LaTeX2ConTeXt.pdf

It contains also side by side examples with both LaTeX and ConTeXt
sources.

Just my 0.02€
Cheers.

Not that I am a specialist in ConTeXt, but:
- it deals with a version of ConTeXt from 2003 (!)
- it does not make sense to think in this way, ie recreating the exact
  LaTeX layout using ConTeXt.

It is used by quite some group of people. It has a complete different
approach. Mind it, I DON'T use ConTeXt, I only want to have up2date
tools in Debian.

PS: you made a mistake the web site is .nl and not .com

No, it is .com, but
www.pragma-ade.com
and not
www.pragme-ade.com
there was an 'e' at instead of an 'a'.

And pragma-ade.nl and pragma-ade.com is the same.
