Bug#492939: [request-tracker-maintainers] request-tracker3.8 packages?
On Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 12:55:01PM +0100, Stefan Hornburg (Racke) wrote: That would be great. I'm ready to test and help out with that effort. I've uploaded the first version to experimental. Until it is accepted from NEW, I've put up the packages at http://pkg-request-tracker.alioth.debian.org/tmp/ for any eager people to try out. They should definitely be considered experimental, however :) Cheers, Dominic. -- Dominic Hargreaves | http://www.larted.org.uk/~dom/ PGP key 5178E2A5 from the.earth.li (keyserver, web, email) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. I should have written before about it, but I was busy @ DebConf with other debian-related issues, like NM, eating cheese and being killed by Rhonda :( I'm working on RT3.8 for work purposes now. Unless anyone objects I will work on pkg-request-tracker/packages/request-tracker3.8/trunk since that has lain idle for quite some time now, so we can get it into a state where it would be useful to upload. That would be great. I'm ready to test and help out with that effort. I'm looking to upgrade an RT3.6 instance (to 3.8) on an Ubuntu 8.04 (not my choice) server. It strikes me that doing it via dpkg would be a much nicer than installing it the upstream way; rather than rolling my own deb, I might save myself some time by grabbing whatever you guys have put together so far. I've found a posting from August on this list asking in the same direction[1] which received no answer, propably bad timing and getting lost ... Hi Trent (sorry missing out on your mail) and Rhonda, Gerardo Curiel's work on 3.8 packaging is available in our SVN repository: http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-request-tracker/packages/request-tracker3.8/trunk/debian/ svn://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-request-tracker/packages/request-tracker3.8/trunk/debian/ Andrew Ruthven has made Debian packages available, as seen in http://lists.bestpractical.com/pipermail/rt-users/2008-August/053345.html I'm not sure how much Gerardo and Andrew have joined their efforts, Cc'ing them. Andrew, you'd naturally be very welcome in the pkg-request-tracker group. Please let us know if you want to get involved. I think what's most needed now is a DD to get the first version in experimental. I'm overworked myself. Rhonda and Dom, help would be appreciated. * Niko Tyni [EMAIL PROTECTED] [2008-09-18 14:57:06 CEST]: Gerardo Curiel's work on 3.8 packaging is available in our SVN repository: Cool. :) I think what's most needed now is a DD to get the first version in experimental. I'm overworked myself. Rhonda and Dom, help would be appreciated. I guess I could make up for having Gerado assassinated during debconf by offering doing the upload. ;) Just give me a call and let me know. So long. :) Rhonda -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I guess I could make up for having Gerado assassinated during debconf by offering doing the upload. ;) Just give me a call and let me know. Heh, That sounds like a good consolation prize ;) Well, there are some outstanding issues with the rt3.8 package: * Rt3.8 depends HTML::RewriteAttributes = 0.02 (not-in-debian), but apparently it works without it right now. * There's no manpage for: - usr/sbin/rt-clean-sessions - usr/sbin/rt-email-dashboards - usr/sbin/rt-email-digest - usr/sbin/rt-email-group-admin - usr/sbin/rt-shredder * Right now the only functional backend is the Pgsql one(which I'm currently using). I'm not applying the 02_acls patch, which is not documented, because I'm not sure how to proceed with this one, rt3.8-db-postgresql works without it. Help would be appreciated :) rt3.8-3.8.1 is out too, I'll look at it this weekend and put it on shape. Andrew Ruthven has made Debian packages available, as seen in http://lists.bestpractical.com/pipermail/rt-users/2008-August/053345.html A number of people seem to be using my 3.8.1 packages both for Lenny and Etch quite happily at this stage. Some changes are still needed to the installation instructions, but I believe that is the only issue. Jesse has also expressed a strong interest in getting a number of the Debian patches commited into RT. I should really get back to getting those submitted.
