What is the difference that makes another source package necessary?

The code difference isn't large, but upstream is distributing it as a separate
tarball that's released on a slightly different schedule, so it needs to be a
separate package for now.

2010-10-15 Thread Scott Kitterman
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Scott Kitterman sc...@kitterman.com

* Package name: python3-ipaddr
  Version : 2.1.5
  Upstream Author : Google ipaddr-py-...@googlegroups.com
* URL : http://code.google.com/p/ipaddr-py/
* License : Apache 2.0
  Programming Lang: Python 3
  Description : Python3 module for working with IP addresses, both IPv4 and
IPv6

 This library is used to create/poke/manipulate IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
 and networks in Python3. It is intended to be fast and lightweight.
 .
 This is a pure Python3 implementation of classes for IPv4/6 addresses and
 networks. It supports comparisons to determine if IP addresses are contained
 inside a defined network, conversion of lists of IP addresses into compact
 CIDR lists, and other IP address manipulation.

Note (not for the description) this is the Python 3 companion to python-ipaddr.
