I hope this will be all right with you, otherwise I'll package older version and we'll wait for libgoffice-0.10 availability. Hi Aron, I see your package is in good shape. It's nearly ready for upload. Thank you but Nearly? ;) So what exactly you'd like me to change before upload? I wonder what's the impact of disabling libgoffice? If it's not too visible to user, I'm okay. I tried to spot any difference by rinning two abiwords side by side but I couldn't. I'm not aware of any impact so we might try to upload this version. Hardly it will be any worse than what's available now. Apparently... git.debian.org has been down today... And I suggest to move the repository to collab-maint, so other one can help easily when you ask them. Indeed I was plannig to move to collab-maint. Would you like me to do it before you upload the package? I was planning to do it later. Apart from packaging stuff, I'd like to ask you spend some effort on triaging bugs on BTS. I believe many of them has been fixed (maybe already long time before). Once the package get uploaded, please act if you see appropriate as you've becoming the new maintainer in Debian. IIRC the section Comment must come along with License, so you can put the comments beneath the paragraph that have Files: *. Good idea, thank you. I did that and uploaded updated source package to mentors. Yes, just for the questions I asked you, :) No worries, I think I'm done for a moment, see below. Apparently... git.debian.org has been down today... And I suggest to move the repository to collab-maint, so other one can help easily when you ask them. Indeed I was plannig to move to collab-maint. I think after changing this and fixing the minor lintian warning, I can upload the package. I think it is minor issue. If you're going to disappear for 6 months after upload then let's wait till collab-maint to be fixed and put the repository there beforehand. But I think we might need to upload again soon as the number of bugs suggests more changes might be necessary. In this case I'll just bundle other changes with the repository move. If that's OK with you, fell free to grab the source package from mentors right away. :) Regards, Dmitry. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. New upstream release can't be prepared until libgoffice-0.10 will be available in Debian. Okay, let's be patient. Regarding #648153 (abiword: FTBFS on hurd-i386) I'll see what I can do. I will not be able to verify those patches so I'm a bit reluctant to introduce 'em. What would be the best to do in this situation? Well, you'd better to response to that bug report, and ask the porter to give you a better patch. I might have already fixed the detection of TOOLKIT_GTK by the packaging update: I introduced autoreconf which also made obsolete some of the previous maintainer's patches. Good. Certainly I can fix #655308 (FTBFS: multiple problems) unless it's already fixed in my build. I think 608164 (abiword.desktop does not validate) no longer apply to 2.9.1 Then don't forget to close them in debian/copyright when your next upload is ready. I'm also preparing abiword-docs package (see #556958) which will be ready tomorrow. Would you be able to sponsor it as well? I'm looking into it, and will reply to that bug once I found something to be improved, or just upload it if I see it's good enough. I'm very glad you responded to this. I was waiting for quite a while for abiword to be sponsored. Frankly during this time I learned few packaging tricks so I'll review my packaging once again. I'm planning to switch from CDBS to debhelper, but not necessarily now. I hope to hear from you soon. You can send email to debian-ment...@lists.debian.org asking sponsorship, so you might not need to wait for so long. I accidentally found this report when I was checking some FTBFS in the archive. It's good to learn that you have improved your skills, congrats! -- Regards, Aron Xu -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Hello Aron, All the issues you mentioned are now fixed in the updated package. #608164 (abiword.desktop does not validate) - it was the result of a sloppy patch I inherited with the package. I corrected the patch causing the problem. #655308 (FTBFS: multiple problems) is fixed as well. I integrated the patch for GNU Hurd: #648153 (abiword: FTBFS on hurd-i386) Apparently it doesn't break build on x86, all good. I've managed to package latest upstream release by dropping dependency on libgoffice - I don't understand the implications of this but new abiword looks and feels exactly as before so I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. (Abiword 2.9.2 require unreleased version of libgoffice if configured using '--with-goffice'.) Abiword-docs package (see #556958) is ready and waiting for sponsor as well. Would you be able to sponsor it together with abiword? I'm almost finished preparng the package so I will post an update regarding source package availability soon. Cheers, Dmitry. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Hello Dmitry, I recently notice that abiword needs some more love, so I find this ITA report from you. I can sponsor upload for you. There are several issues that could be addressed with a new upload at least: New upstream release: 2.9.2 #655308 abiword: FTBFS: multiple probelms #648153 abiword: FTBFS on hurd-i386 The first two can be considered as must, and the third one has someone submitted working patch. If you can do that, please let me know. -- Regards, Aron Xu -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
