From memory, I got stuck on the libdrumstick transition. The latest
version (1.1.0) has introduced some "ctest" which I had not come across
before, and I have not had a chance recently to try and work out why the
tests are failing when building the package, or (worst case) how to
disable them.

Also, the transition is waiting for a new version of kmidimon which has
not yet been updated to work with the latest libdrumstick. This could be
solved by knocking it out of testing and hoping it is fixed by the
Buster release, or moving the latest libdrumstick into it's own source
package so that the old library can remain (they are co-installable
apparently).

Unfortunately, real life is getting in the way at the moment.

Regards,

Ross

Hi Ross,

It is great to hear that pkg-multimedia is willing to take care of this
package. Did you make any progress on this package?

AFAIK, current version is broken and doesn't work anymore. An update to
the latest upstream version is very much needed.

Bug#797535: vmpk status

2016-11-11 Thread Ross Gammon
Hi,

The latest vmpk has been imported to git & pushed here:
https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-multimedia/vmpk.git

Unfortunately, we have missed the transition deadline for the Debian
Stretch release, so this will now have to wait until Buster.

I split the package in two, to provide a -doc package. But there are
many files in the data directory (where the html documents live) that
are required for vmpk. So it is probably best to put everything back
into one package.

Cheers,

Ross
