  Description : Python library for calculating geographical distance with
high accuracy

  Vincenty is a Python library that calculates the geographical distance between
  two points with extreme accuracy, utilizing Vincenty's formula. Based on the
  WGS 84 reference ellipsoid, this method is precise to within 1 mm or better.
  Widely employed in geographic information systems (GIS), it offers superior
  accuracy compared to great-circle distance calculations that assume a
  spherical Earth. The library supports calculations in both kilometers and
  miles.

This library is a dependancy of Home Assistant, the Python smart home platform.
I plan to maintain it as part of the Home Assistant team.

Description: build high-performing platform-independent programs (development)
 Free, open source C++ library, offering some basic functionality to build
 high-performing, platform-independent programs. Some of the highlights include:
 .
  - A typesafe, multi-threaded event system that's very simple to use yet
extremely efficient
  - Timers for periodic events
  - A datetime class that not only tracks timestamp but also their accuracy,
which simplifies dealing with timestamps originating from different sources
  - Simple process handling for spawning child processes with redirected I/O

Bug#1072202: O: libfilezilla -- build high-performing platform-independent programs

2024-05-30 Thread Phil Wyett
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: libfilezi...@packages.debian.org
Control: affects -1 + src:libfilezilla

I intend to orphan the libfilezilla package.

Description: build high-performing platform-independent programs (development)
 Free, open source C++ library, offering some basic functionality to build
 high-performing, platform-independent programs. Some of the highlights include:
 .
  - A typesafe, multi-threaded event system that's very simple to use yet
extremely efficient
  - Timers for periodic events
  - A datetime class that not only tracks timestamp but also their accuracy,
which simplifies dealing with timestamps originating from different sources
  - Simple process handling for spawning child processes with redirected I/O

* Package name: libblkio
  Version : v1.2.2
  Upstream Author : The libblkio Contributors
* URL : https://libblkio.gitlab.io/libblkio
* License : MIT or Apache 2.0
  Programming Lang: Rust, C
  Description : Library for high-performance block device I/O with support
for multi-queue devices

Applications are increasingly integrating high-performance I/O interfaces such
as
Linux io_uring, userspace device drivers, and vhost-user device support. The
effort
required to add each of these low-level interfaces into an application is
relatively high.
libblkio provides a single API for efficiently accessing block devices and
eliminates
the need to write custom code for each one.

This package will be used by block device backends in qemu, to begin with, to
provide
virtualised access to block devices. The core of it is written in rust, but it
is used
from C-language code too. It also needs some rust crates to be packaged too
(I'm working
on that).

Below is descriptions from homepage:

BSD licensed.
No system dependencies, no need for readline on your machine.
Related to 2, these bindings are self-contained, the source for linenoise is in
this repo and compiled all together with the OCaml.
Written in OCaml + C.
Pretty cool hints feature, see the gif.
Additional features compared to linenoise, such as history search

The package is a dependency of sail[0] and and I will maintain it under

Apologies, I somehow missed your Github issue. Looks like you're about 10 steps
ahead of where I was when I wrote the email! :)

Agreed - 1 makes most sense to me as well.

I have a few machines with different configurations, so feel free to mail me if
it would help for me to test against your branch (or anything else for that
matter).

Indeed, I created an issue to track this and Robert is aware of the
situation. AnyOldName3 and myself are working together with upstream
glslang that would make it findable and work correctly via cmake so that
cmake itself would not have to carry its own vulkan and glslang files. [1]

Agreed and I've held off pushing this further until I could get
vulkanscenegraph package to build against system glslang. It's actually
much worse that that, it will try to pull in the glslang code during cmake
configuration time, which is not allowed during buildd.

We are already doing this. :) The trickle down should be happening now. [2]

> 2) We disable the shader compiler part of vsg

Please no; while this would get the package into Debian faster it would be
useless for OpenMW, or specifically the Vulkan work we are doing there
which makes use of VSG's glslang.

> 3) We patch the build to depend on Debian's glslang package

If we can't wait for 1 to trickle down into Debian's repo; this is a way
forward. I have a branch I've been working on that would resolve that. [3]

What are your thoughts?

Bug#1063374: RFP: HTMX - high power tools for HTML

2024-03-12 Thread Trent W. Buck
Hi, attached is my first draft of packaging htmx.
I don't know js packaging at all, so I kinda guessed.

https://github.com/cyberitsolutions/bootstrap2020/tree/twb/debian-12-PrisonPC.packages/node-htmx.org/debian

Known issues:

  * Have to build with DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nocheck, because
some test-time dependencies are missing (not in Debian at all)!

  * puts files in /usr/share/nodejs, but
apache2 expects /usr/share/javascript!

  * creates a .min.js for the main file, but
not any of the auxiliary files!
(I think this is an upstream bug?)

  * in the 2.0.0~alpha1 package,
all the auxiliary files are completely missing!

  * Makes a connection to registry.npmjs.org during build.
I don't know why. The attacker's command was:

perl -MDebian::PkgJs::SimpleAudit -e print advisories(".")

  * The upstream source tarball is 20MB, that seems *way* too big.
(Update: it seems most of this is the embedded copy of https://htmx.org
website.)

Lintian complains about a bunch of embedded copies, too:

Bug#1016991: ITP: VulkanSceneGraph -- VulkanSceneGraph (VSG), is a modern, cross platform, high performance scene graph library

2024-03-10 Thread matthew
Thanks Bret for your work to package this. I've been keeping an eye on upstream
and this ITP for a while.

One thing I noticed is that upstream integrated their own fork [1] of glslang
directly into the build [2] as of 1.0.3 [3]. Their reasoning was that:

> Relying upon glslang has turned out to be far more painful that it should be,
> with the API evolving over the years, different packaging of glslang being
> done in various ways on various platforms has meant that it's been a wake a
> mole task trying to keep the VSG working on all the various build and runtime
> combinations involving glslang and SPIRV-Tools.

I believe this approach would violate Debian Policy on vendored dependencies,
which are already available in glslang-dev.

I see a few options:

1) We work with upstream to unvendor the dependency
2) We disable the shader compiler part of vsg
3) We patch the build to depend on Debian's glslang package

1) seems unlikely without a lot of work to help fix the original issues
encountered by upstream. This was a deliberate choice on their side, so it
would require some discussion to see if they'd be happy to try.

2) has a build flag for this, but it disables a significant portion of the
library.

3) seems doable - I got it working without build or runtime issues locally, but
I'm not sure if this would work in all cases, or if upstream would be happy for
us to do this without further discussion.

Do you have any thoughts on what is the best approach? IANADD, or involved with
vsg; I'm just a user, so I may have missed something obvious.

* Package name: libgrapheme
  Version : 2.0.2
  Upstream Author : Laslo Hunhold
* URL : https://libs.suckless.org/libgrapheme/
* License : ISC
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : Unicode string library with small footprint and high
performance

libgrapheme is an extremely simple freestanding C99 library providing
utilities for properly handling strings according to the latest Unicode
standard 15.0.0. It offers fully Unicode compliant

 * grapheme cluster (i.e. user-perceived character) segmentation
 * word segmentation
 * sentence segmentation
 * detection of permissible line break opportunities
 * case detection (lower-, upper- and title-case)
 * case conversion (to lower-, upper- and title-case)

on UTF-8 strings and codepoint arrays, which both can also be null-terminated.

The necessary lookup-tables are automatically generated from the Unicode
standard data (contained in the tarball) and heavily compressed. Over
10,000 automatically generated conformance tests and over 150 unit tests
ensure conformance and correctness.

It is also way smaller and much faster than the other established
Unicode string libraries (ICU, GNU's libunistring, libutf8proc).

I plan to maintain the package in salsa under the debian/ namespace,
unless I get a suggestion for an appropriate team. In that case I'd
be happy to team maintain the package.

I already maintain packages from the same upstream, with whom I have
always had an excellent collaboration.

Bug#1058962: O: speedcrunch -- High precision calculator

2023-12-18 Thread Felix Krull

Package: wnpp

Severity: normal

For personal reasons I am orphaning the speedcrunch package.

The broken package that caused speedcrunch's removal from testing,
python3-quark-sphinx-theme, is currently broken because of a Sphinx
update. I was also maintaining the upstream of that package and packaged
it as a build dependency for speedcrunch, but won't be maintaining it
any more either. I have proposed to add the relevant bits directly into
the speedcrunch repo so they can be maintained there at least:
https://bitbucket.org/heldercorreia/speedcrunch/pull-requests/125

FWIW I'm sorry to leave speedcrunch broken like that, but evidently not
sorry enough to do something about it at this point.

Description: high-performance MySQL tuning script
 High-performance MySQL tuning script written in perl that will provide
 you with a snapshot of a MySQL server?s health. Based on the statistics
 gathered, specific recommendations will be provided that will increase a
 MySQL server's efficiency and performance. The script gives you
 automated MySQL tuning that is on the level of what you would receive
 from a MySQL DBA.
 .
 Features:
 .
* Memory Usage: Calculates MySQL memory usage at max load and makes
  recommendations for increasing or decreasing the MySQL memory
  footprint. Per-thread and server-wide buffer data is calculated
  separately for an accurate snapshot of the server?s configuration.
* Slow Queries: Reviews the amount of slow queries relative to the
  total queries. Slow query time limits are also analyzed and
  recommendations are made.
* Connections: Current and historical connection counts are
  reviewed.
* Key Buffer: Takes configuration data and compares it to the actual
  indexes found in MyISAM tables. Key cache hit rates are calculated
  and variable adjustments are suggested.
* Query Cache: Query cache hit rates and usage percentages are used
  to make recommendations for the query cache configuration
  variables.
* Sorting & Joins: Per-thread buffers that affect sorts and joins
  are reviewed along with the statistics from the queries run
  against the server.
* Temporary Tables: Variable recommendations are made to reduce
  temporary tables that are written to the disk.
* Table Cache: Compares total tables opened to the currently open
  tables. Calculates the table cache hit rate in order to make
  suggestions.
* Open Files: Determines if the server will approach or run into the
  open file limit set by the operating system or the MySQL server
  itself.
* Table Locks: Finds table locking that forces queries to wait and
  makes suggestions for reducing locks that require a wait.
* Thread Cache: Calculates how many times MySQL must create a new
  thread to respond to a query.
* Aborted Connections: Finds applications that are not closing
  connections to MySQL properly.
* Read/Write Ratios: Calculates the percentage of read and write
  operations on your MySQL installation.

Bug#1053214: RFP: lustre -- distributed parallel, scalabe, high-performance, high-availability file system

2023-11-09 Thread Christopher Huhn

Hi Ole,

more than a decade ago we (GSI IT) funded an effort by a commercial
supporter (Credativ) to get Lustre in shape for inclusion in Debian.
This effort unfortunately went nowhere, but its remains can still be
found on snapshot.debian.org [1].

AFAICT the current upstream packaging has been derived from this project.

The main culprit was that the Lustre development focuses on rather old
enterprise (ie. RHEL) kernels and the newest Lustre did not work with
the latest kernels in Debian upstream which regularly broke the package
in Debian unstable until it was finally removed.

My impression is that this situation has not improved much and you will
end up in a similar situation again.

The development models of Debian and Lustre seem to be too incompatible.

Best

Christopher

Bug#1053589: RFP: rust-matchit -- high performance, zero-copy URL router

2023-10-08 Thread Reinhard Tartler
Indeed, allow prerelease does seem to help. Debcargo still produces the same
message but carries on with generating the package

Thanks

while trying to package this with debcargo, I'm seeing this error message:

$ REALVER=0.7.3 ./update.sh matchit
Updating crates.io index
debcargo failed: Cannot represent prerelease part of dependency: gonzales Comparator {
op: Caret, major: 0, minor: Some(0), patch: Some(3), pre: Prerelease("beta") }
Command failed. If the patches failed to apply, to rebase them, run:
cd /srv/scratch/packages/rust/debcargo-conf/build/matchit
quilt pop -a -f
rm -rf .pc
ln -s /srv/scratch/packages/rust/debcargo-conf/src/matchit/debian/patches
quilt push --fuzz=0 -a -f
emacsclient
quilt refresh

I guess this is because of this line:

https://github.com/ibraheemdev/matchit/blob/64af4bd02757c7d12412d871c3143b18de60e9df/Cargo.toml#L21

How to package this? Does 'debcargo' need a fix?

It seems from the error message that debcargo is well aware of its
inability to handle crates containing a prerelease component.

It seems from notes in source that you can gamble and hope for the best
by somehow setting some "allow_prerelease_deps" flag:
https://sources.debian.org/src/rust-debcargo/2.6.0-3/src/debian/dependency.rs/?hl=187#L187

Bug#1053393: O: mysqltuner -- high-performance MySQL tuning script

2023-10-03 Thread HIGUCHI Daisuke (VDR dai)
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: mysqltu...@packages.debian.org
Control: affects -1 + src:mysqltuner

Satoru KURASHIKI intends to orphan package,
but he does not have his time. So I do it for him acked by him.

2023-09-29 Thread Ole Streicher

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, debian-scie...@lists.debian.org

* Package name: lustre
  Upstream Author : Whamcloud
* URL : www.lustre.org
* License : GPLv2
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : Distributed parallel, scalable, high-performance file system

The Lustre file system is an open-source, parallel file system that
supports many requirements of leadership class HPC simulation
environments.

Lustre is used in a number of science institutes (including mine), so
having a Debian package would be quite handy for us.

Their distribution already come with some Debian files (and they
actually build Ubuntu packages), but they are not compliant to Debian
Policy, and they are very outdated (source format 1, declared standards
version 3.8.2), depending on tools that are not in Debian anymore
(dpatch). However, for the kernel modules, it is possible to build them
with dkms support.

The package includes both the client and the server side. However,
upstream builds the server package only for RHEL, already even just
having the client packages for Debian would be a big win.

Best regards

Ole

Bug#1040786: RFP: wl-screenrec -- High performance wlroots screen recording, featuring hardware encoding

2023-07-10 Thread Antoine Beaupre
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: wl-screenrec
  Version : no release published
  Upstream Contact: Russell Greene
* URL : https://github.com/russelltg/wl-screenrec
* License : Apache-2.0
  Programming Lang: Rust
  Description : High performance wlroots screen recording, featuring
hardware encoding

High performance screen recorder for wlroots Wayland.

Uses dma-buf transfers to get surface, and uses the GPU to do both the
pixel format conversion and the encoding, meaning the raw video data
never touches the CPU, leaving it free to run your applications.

System Requirements:
* Wayland compositor supporting the following protocols:
  * wlr-output-management-unstable-v1 (missing in hikari, cage, gamescope,
kwinft)
  * wlr-screencopy-unstable-v1 (missing in gamescope and kwinft)
  Known working examples: sway, hyprland, wayfire, labwc.
* VA-API encoding:
  * Intel iGPUs: libva-intel-media-driver or libva-intel-driver
  * AMD/ATI GPUs: mesa-gallium-va

There's wf-recorder already packaged in Debian, and probably
desktop-specific ones as well, but, according to this project's
README, wl-screenrec beats wf-recorder by something like an order of
magnitude, at least, in performance.

  Description : High-availability support for PostgreSQL logical replication

This extension is for anyone with Logical Replication Slots on
Postgres databases that are also part of a Physical Streaming
Replication architecture.

Since logical replication slots are only maintained on the primary
node, downstream subscribers don't receive any new changes from a
newly promoted primary until the slot is created, which is unsafe
because the information that includes which data a subscriber has
confirmed receiving and which log data still needs to be retained for
the subscriber will have been lost, resulting in an unknown gap in
data changes. PG Failover Slots makes logical replication slots usable
across a physical failover using the following features:

- Copies any missing replication slots from the primary to the standby
- Removes any slots from the standby that aren't found on the primary
- Periodically synchronizes the position of slots on the standby based
  on the primary
- Ensures that selected standbys receive data before any of the
  logical slot walsenders can send data to consumers

PostgreSQL 11 on higher is required.

  Description : high level PKCS#11 interface for Python

 A high level, "more Pythonic" interface to the PKCS#11 (Cryptoki) standard to
 support HSM and Smartcard devices in Python.
 .
 The interface is designed to follow the logical structure of a HSM, with
 useful defaults for obscurely documented parameters. Many APIs will optionally
 accept iterables and act as generators, allowing you to stream large data
 blocks for symmetric encryption.
 .
 It also includes numerous utility functions to convert between PKCS#11 data
 structures and common interchange formats including PKCS#1 and X.509.
 .
 The library is fully documented and has a full integration test suite for all
 features, with continuous integration against multiple HSM platforms including
 Entrust nShield, Opencryptoki TPM and OpenSC/Smartcard-HSM/Nitrokey HSM.

New optional dependency for esptool, a package that I am trying to help
with. I intend to maintain this package as part of the Debian Python
Team. Co-maintainers/Uploaders more than welcome.

  Programming Lang: Java
  Description : high level, general purpose Java cryptographic library

 General-purpose Java cryptograhic library, which complements the Bouncy
 Castle libraries, that has the following design goals:
 .
  * Flexible JCE provider. Prefers the Bouncy Castle Java Provider, but
can fall back to other providers defined in the environment for
algorithms not implemented by BC.
  * Ease of use for common cryptographic operations. A one liner
highlights this well; the following prints the MD5 hash of a password
as a string of HEX characters:
System.out.println(new MD5().digest(passBytes, new HexConverter()));
  * Convenient and performant handling of cryptographic operations on
large data streams.
  * Support for base-64 and hexadecimal encoding of ciphertext input/output.
  * Support for I/O operations on cryptographic primitives including
generating and writing symmetric encryption keys, public/private key
pairs, and X.509 certificates. Both PEM and DER encoding is handled
conveniently.
  * Command line interface for each class of cryptographic operation
(digest, symmetric encryption, public-key encryption, message signing,
etc). A command line interface for keystore operations is also
included, which is notable as it supports features above and beyond
the the Java keytool utility.
 .
 It is important to note that no cryptographic algorithms are implemented;
 Bouncy Castle provides all cryptographic algorithms where required.

Bug#1032143: ITP: python-pkcs11 -- high level PKCS#11 interface for Python

* Package name: python-pkcs11
  Version : 0.7.0
  Upstream Author : Danielle Madeley
* URL : https://github.com/danni/python-pkcs11/
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Python

Another update: 0.12 is around the corner and will bump the ABI, so I've
decided to wait for that. I'm waiting on upstream to also fix #1869 to
avoid having to deal with DFSG-repacked sources -- the latest update
from yesterday is that it will be part of 0.12.

Bug#1030361: ITP: libblkio -- library for high-performance block device I/O with support for multi-queue devices

* Package name: libblkio
  Version : v1.2.2
  Upstream Author : The libblkio Contributors
* URL : https://libblkio.gitlab.io/libblkio
* License : MIT or Apache 2.0

It also needs some rust crates to be packaged too
(I'm working
on that).

MetaEuk is a modular toolkit designed for large-scale gene discovery and
annotation in eukaryotic metagenomic contigs. MetaEuk combines the fast and
sensitive homology search capabilities of MMseqs2 with a dynamic programming
procedure to recover optimal exons sets. It reduces redundancies in multiple
discoveries of the same gene and resolves conflicting gene predictions on the
same strand.

  Description : modern high-performance serialization utilities for Python3
 Serialization is hard, especially across Python versions and multiple
 platforms. After dealing with many subtle bugs over the years
 (encodings, locales, large files) libraries like spaCy and Prodigy
 have steadily grown a number of utility functions to wrap the multiple
 serialization formats we need to support (especially json, msgpack and
 pickle). To avoid duplication these functions were put in one place.

Subject: ITP: python-srsly -- modern high-performance serialization utilities

Severity: wishlist

* Package name: python-srsly
  Version : 2.4.5.dev1
  Upstream Author : ExplosionAI UG
* URL : https://github.com/explosion/srsly
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : modern high-performance serialization utilities for Python3
 Serialization is hard, especially across Python versions and multiple
 platforms. After dealing with many subtle bugs over the years
 (encodings, locales, large files) libraries like spaCy and Prodigy
 have steadily grown a number of utility functions to wrap the multiple
 serialization formats we need to support (especially json, msgpack and
 pickle). To avoid duplication these functions were put in one place.

Hi,

I currently have no interest in maintaining unifrac, which
is a bit cumbersome to maintain (the new update being an example)
and it doesn't motivate me enough to keep maintaining it.

Should you feel motivated, feel free to adopt this one.

Package Description:

 ---  High-performance phylogenetic diversity calculations ---
 The de facto repository for high-performance phylogenetic diversity
 calculations. The methods in this repository are based on an
 implementation of the Strided State UniFrac algorithm which is faster,
 and uses less memory than Fast UniFrac. Strided State UniFrac supports
 Unweighted UniFrac, Weighted UniFrac, Generalized UniFrac, Variance
 Adjusted UniFrac and meta UniFrac. This repository also includes Stacked
 Faith (manuscript in preparation), a method for calculating Faith's PD
 that is faster and uses less memory than the Fast UniFrac-based
 reference implementation.

Bug#1023878: ITP: libgrapheme -- Unicode string library with small footprint and high performance

2022-11-11 Thread Paride Legovini
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Paride Legovini
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, par...@debian.org, d...@frign.de

* Package name: libgrapheme
  Version : 2.0.2
  Upstream Author : Laslo Hunhold
* URL : https://libs.suckless.org/libgrapheme/
* License : ISC
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : Unicode string library with small footprint and high
performance

libgrapheme is an extremely simple freestanding C99 library providing
utilities for properly handling strings according to the latest Unicode
standard 15.0.0. It offers fully Unicode compliant

 * grapheme cluster (i.e. user-perceived character) segmentation
 * word segmentation
 * sentence segmentation

Bug#987544: RFP: envoyproxy -- high performance C++ distributed proxy designed for single services and applications

2022-10-07 Thread ryan

Hi,

Im a maintainer on the Envoy project, and currently have some
reponsibility around our release process.

We have been working on packaging Envoy for Debian and Ubuntu and
generally improving our release process.

Currently our efforts are around packaging the statically compiled
binary which has no system dependencies other than glibc.

It would definitely be preferable to have Envoy added into the
distribution, but i guess the complex part is figuring out how to
compile non-statically and turn bazel dependencies into system ones.

If we can do anything to assist in this I would be more than happy to
help.

cheers,

Ryan Northey (@phlax)

 Vector is a high-performance, end-to-end (agent & aggregator) observability
 data pipeline that puts you in control of your observability data. It can
 collect, transform, and route all your logs, metrics, and traces to any
 vendors you want today and any other vendors you may want tomorrow. Vector
 enables dramatic cost reduction, novel data enrichment, and data security
 where you need it, not where it is most convenient for your vendors.
 Additionally, it is 10x faster than every alternative in the space.

Was packaged for LibreOffice but since it isn't used anymore I lost
interest :)

Note the (autopkg)test is flaky and thus marked as such in the last upload, see
https://github.com/efficient/libcuckoo/issues/144 for the upstream
issue.

Given it was packaged specifically for LibreOffice and noone is using
it (and ~non-installed due to popcon, but that might be wrong as it's
header-only, just a build-dependency - but that would then still be
installed in the development environment) maybe it should just
be removed instead?
Especially as it never was part of a stable release...

Regards,

Rene

* Package name : VulkanSceneGraph
  Version : 0.1.10
  Upstream Author : Robert Osfield
* URL : https://github.com/vsg-dev/VulkanSceneGraph
* License : MIT/X
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : VulkanSceneGraph (VSG), is a modern, cross platform, high
performance scene graph library built upon Vulkan graphics/compute API.

The project aims to bring the performance of Vulkan to the wider developer
community by providing a modern,
high quality software library that is easy to use and focused on making the
development of high performance
graphics and compute applications a productive and fun experience. Sharing the
same lead author as the
OpenSceneGraph, all the lessons about software quality, performance and the
needs of application developers
are applied to VulkanSceneGraph to provide a distillation of what a next gen
scene graph needs to be.

Extra Info:
 - VSG will be used by OpenMW as it is a replacement for the current OSG
library.
 - osgEarth will probably transition to vsgEarth as well.
 - Co-maintainers from OSG welcome.
 - I would maintain it and hopefully members of the games-team as well.
 - Sponsors always welcome.

I have prepared a package for 0.10.0 that is pretty much complete (i.e.
including all metadata like debian/copyright, debian/watch etc.) and
functional, including AOT/wasmedgec and libwasmedge_c.

I needed to backport one patch from upstream (75c3890), but more
importantly have some outstanding questions/issues around libwasmedge_c,
that I have filed upstream bugs about (#1677¹, #1688²). Patching the
former is trivial, but would require me to make an ABI promise that
upstream hasn't made, so I consider this a blocker.

I don't know if I have the bandwidth to properly maintain another
package. I'm happy to share my work (e.g. in a Salsa git repo), and
assuming someone else wants to take the primary role of maintainer, I'm
happy to act both as a sponsor, and occasional contributor/Uploader.
Shen-Ta, not sure if you'd be interested in such an arrangement?

Best,
Faidon

Glium is an intermediate layer between OpenGL and your application. You
still need to manually handle the graphics pipeline, but without having
to use OpenGL's old and error-prone API.

I'm using it for developing an extension to libcamera downstream in
PureOS. Without default features, I don't need glutin (also missing from
Debian). It's way simpler to use this compared to using the naked OpenGL APIs.
The other missing dependency (required) is genmesh.

I'm not skilled enough to maintain packages.

2022-05-20 Thread David Heidelberg

3 years have passed since the ITP, 1½ years have passed since the

if Ron is no longer interested in packaging libopusenc, i would be
happy to take over (under the umbrella of the multimedia-team).
