Although I am a (pseudo) European also, I think not.

First off, the Euro sign is a detail as far as using Debian goes, even
for European users. It can probably be compared with generating
characters like æ, ø, å, ä, ö, ü, ß, etc - except, of course, that it
is a new sign.

Second of all, the 'euro-support' package is not part of a stable (or
even testing) distribution yet.

Third, having it on the front page "permanently" would make this a
euro-centric distribution. We want to keep the front page as generic
as possible, no?

Why not make some of the documentation from the 'euro-support' package
available via the Debian web site as well, and then announce the
explicit support (if any) like any other news event?

Just my 0.022 euros worth.

I agree it deserves mention, but let's keep the excitement down to a normal
debian-news announcement :)

WHY is there no link to /mirrors/ on the main page, nor on the /misc/
page, nor on the sitemap nor on the ftp-distrib page?

HOW should somebody not familiar with the project find out where to
gather such information?

Please fix.

Joey

The "How is www.debian.org made" page[1] contains a section on how
to help with the web pages. As it says, have a look at the TODO
file[2] or link checker results[3] and submit corrections.

I think an issue posted to debian-news would be enough (that will appear
on the front page) but I don't think an special link to debian's euro
tutorial is needed, people will surely find their way into
"Support->Documentation"

I also feel it's an important issue. Many Debian users switching
currency and I guess most of them don't even know how to display the
character.
