missing bug report pages

2004-01-14 Thread cng

Hello,

I tried to access both of these pages for instructions to report a bug
with gnome-terminal but the pages do not exist:

http://packages.debian.org/stable/utils/reportbug.html
http://packages.debian.org/stable/utils/debbugs-el.html

"Not Found
The requested URL /stable/utils/reportbug.html was not found on this server.

Apache/1.3.26 Server at packages.debian.org Port 80"

When will they be restored?

Thanks

Bug#227831: www.debian.org: experimental packages missing from packages.d.o

2004-01-14 Thread Andre Lehovich
Package: www.debian.org
Severity: normal

Experimental versions of packages are not listed in the new
version of packages.d.o. I expected
http://packages.debian.org/apt to show the 0.6 experimental
version, but only stable, testing, and unstable appear.
(The experimental apt can be found through
http://packages.debian.org/experimental/

Bug#227822: www.debian.org: mirror status page not being updated

2004-01-14 Thread Andre Lehovich
Package: www.debian.org
Severity: normal

The mirror status page http://mirror.debian.org/status.html
has not updated since last Nov's security compromise. The
page is automatically generated, probably a cron job needs
to be reset somewhere.

Yes, it seems to play a key role in the project. Quoting the author of
the page, Erich Schubert (I hope that he doesn't mind):

"The data [from the Web site] is stored in a MySQL Database and exported
once a day to a
plaintext file that can be read by debtags, tagcoll and
synatics-debtags.

"The information should be stored in the package files, but the package
browser is a prototype right now.
Please check the deb-usability project at alioth, all information is
collected there (especially do check the mailing list archives)

"We need people interested in doing a proper tag hierarchy and policies
for starting the real tagging work (which could then be included in the
package files), but this needs a lot of time. (See the mails to the
mailing list for references to the trove and demram hierarchies)"

Indeed, you're right. I found the source of the problem and am testing
a fix right now.

Yo!

As was mentioned in other mails, it is great to have that feature!

But the links don't work for packages with an epoch in the version string:
the URL contains the epoch, but the path of the real changelog omits the
epoch.

(Example:
http://people.d.o/~noel/changelogs/pool/main/p/php4/php4_4.3.3-4/changelog
vs.
http://people.d.o/~noel/changelogs/pool/main/p/php4/php4_4:4.3.3-4/changelog
)

This is a documentation bug. The cited statement is not true for
the current search_packages script.

Fixed in CVS now. Will be online after the next build.

Bug#227658: www.debian.org: ViewCVS misses cvsroot parameter when getting diffs.

2004-01-14 Thread Nobuhiro IMAI
Package: www.debian.org
Severity: wishlist

Hi!

I found a dead link in cvs.debian.org ViewCVS interface. The "Get
Diffs" buttons, in the bottom of each CVS log page[1], do not append
the cvsroot=project-root parameter. As the result of this, the error
message appears as shown in the following.

/webwml/english/index.wml.diff: unknown location

It seems that the QUERY_STRING in an action parameter is ignored. I
could get the certain diff by manually appending the parameter. Could
you fix this problem?

 1. e.g. http://cvs.debian.org/webwml/english/index.wml?cvsroot=webwml#diff
