IMHO you can create your own domain, either debian-med or
debian-custom if some msgids can be shared with other subprojects.
I have no ideas about this domain stuff but the debian-custom approach seems
to be very reasonable because I guess there are many common issues according
to the layout and structure of all Custom Debian Distributions.

If you could provide a link about this domain stuff I would have a look into
it and add this to the general Custom Debian Distribution documentation soon
to get interested people informed.

Kind regards

kernel version

2004-05-12 Thread Michel Onoff

Hello,

it would be very informative to state very clearly on the web site which
kernel releases the distributions include.

Of course, by browsing and searching it is possible to obtain this
information, but a more immediate statement would be welcome, I think.

Have a nice time.

list of debian based distributions incomplete

2004-05-12 Thread Speuler
The EuroNode distribution ( http://euronode.org/ ) is based on debian, too.
This one doesn't show on the list of debian based distributions
( http://www.debian.org/misc/children-distros )

This was about gettext domains. I decided to use gettext (and thus .po
files) for parts of the layout, because these parts of the page aren't
changing. For example, on every page is an introductory note explaining
what the following list of programs is about. This text is the same on
every subpage, so instead of translating it again and again, I figured that
it would be easier to use a gettext template for that.

I already included support for Debian-Jr and Debian-Lex, because those
projects are using very similar lists of programs to be included. I didn't
contact their maintainers yet, because I want to further test the new
template on Debian-Med. Once I'm satisfied with its function (and the API
is not changing anymore ;-)), I'll send a mail to the Debian-Lex and
Debian-Jr projects.

Other Custom Debian Distributions can easily be added, by the way.

Cheers,

The correct links for the page
http://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/
are now:
 ftp://mirror.switch.ch/mirror/debian-cd/
http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/debian-cd/

and for the debian-unofficial a bit further down on the page:
 ftp://mirror.switch.ch/mirror/debian-unofficial/
http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/debian-unofficial/

The new contact address is
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
it replaces the former

IMO it could be written at the describtions of the releases.
