I think, language specific css files can be created by script. But I'll
search for another solution (auto width). I am not sure, if that will
work, but give me some time to try.

You cannot set a width for leftcol which works for all languages, so
I am pretty sure that we will need some debian..css files when
default values are not good.
How are we supposed to load several CSS files?

We fixed that a bit.
But I'll search for a better solution. The width should be auto without
the maincol moving down, if possible.

Bug#284987: RSS feed for new packages

2004-12-09 Thread Erich Schubert
Package: www.debian.org
Version: n/a

It would be nice to have a RSS feed of the newpkg pages being generated,
too. I'd prefer a merged one, actually, but main is okay.

There was an off-site RSS feed available from
http://polydistortion.net/urls/new-debian-packages.rss
but recent layout changes broke it. It would be nicer to generate the
feeds on the packages.debian.org server itself.

Thats's easy to fix: add to the leftcol the same amount of em than
adding to the left margin of maincol.

Sorry, I did not compiling other pages, when Denis told of the general
size problem when having large font.

assistance

2004-12-09 Thread DW
I have had my e-mail address for six months, and not one piece of spam has
been delivered to it. I do this by guarding it very carefully.
Unfortunately, I took my guard down and replied to a debian bug issue using
my work address. Since then, the spam has started. I am dismayed that your
program posts the e-mail address unaltered.

I am asking that you remove my address [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED]
from the online archives:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=283706

Thank you for your help in rectifying this issue.

The problem with the main page is a HTML+CSS problem but any changes to
mainpage.wml only trigger the rebuild of one page per language so we can
change it easily. I backed out the navbar part of the patch for
mainpage.wml for now until the issues are fixed.
http://higgs.djpig.de/debian-www/ will be build with the new layout to
check wether it gets fixed.

The other pages you're mentioning are generated from the package's
description, so only the maintainer can do something about that, too.
The fact that the location is wrong is already recorded in the
bug tracking system as Bug#269136
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=269136)

g3data new homepage

2004-12-09 Thread Giovanni Ridolfi
Hi everybody,

The homepage of the package g3data
should be updated to:

http://www.acclab.helsinki.fi/~frantz/software/g3data.php

I found the wrong link in the pages:

http://packages.debian.org/unstable/science/g3data
http://packages.debian.org/testing/science/g3data
http://packages.debian.org/stable/science/g3data
...
Since I found the link in in the changelog/copyright as well

http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/g/g3data/g3data_1.08-1/g3data.copyright

I've cc'ed the maintainer

Cheers,

Giovanni
