For the curious here the explanation of that error:
saens was updated to sarge and so the perl libdb bindings changed. After I
regenerated all the db files the error was fixed.

Hi Jutta,

Can you please enable content negociation? When following links, eg
to the social contract, a 404 error is returned.

I would also like to fix xhtml issues in templates files, so I will
take this opportunity to commit both your changes and mine within
a couple of days, unless of course someone already commit your patch
or has objections.

I installed the validator locally. The wml line is not include in the
patches.
To have a working valdation run on westfalen.de, I replaced the URL
by validator.w3.org now, but the change and rsync will need some hours.

The whole validation log is at http://www.witch.westfalen.de/debian/
diff/validate-errors-20050826.txt.gz

grep -v valid will show the remaining errors (2431 pages).
grep ^Fehler shows the files with Errors

2005-08-26 Thread Frans Pop
Hi,

Although I have not really looked at the patch or the results yet, I'd
like to congratulate you on this result.
The main reason for this mail is a couple of questions.
On Friday 26 August 2005 19:45, Jutta Wrage wrote:

Can you give a rough overview of the parts that are / are not covered?

> A full build (without chinese, which does not build

This preview site shows a "validate" link which results in "Unknown host
clara.bofh.ms".
Is this included in the patches or just something local you used for
checking the patches? Any chance of replacing it with something that will
work?

Cheers,

Hi!

The set of patches applied to this mail make 17163 pages validationg with
HTML strict. A full build (without chinese, which does not build on
PPC) can be seen at http://www.witch.westfalen.de/debian/dwww2/.

CSS patch must be applied before or together with the other patches.

major changes:
  - removing border 0 (covered already in css)
  - centering H1 using the css
  - removing noshade from hr (will be replaced by css border and in css
browsers invisible hr later
  - moved red color for security warnings to css
  - consistent font size set for server selects by css only and
not any longer mixed.

If you find an issue with the patches, please do not hesitate to
contact me, before applying the patches.

The patches are also at http://www.witch.westfalen.de/debian/diff/

It seemed to be a transient error. Now the package descriptions are
correct.

Broken package descriptions from packages.debian.org

2005-08-26 Thread Frédéric Bothamy
Hello,

I have noticed that recently the package descriptions are always set to
"Error while loading descriptions database:" (f.e.
http://packages.debian.org/ipmasq). I guess that there is some problem
getting the Packages description file, but I don't know where this is
done (maybe in
http://cvs.debian.org/packages/contents/refetch?cvsroot=webwml ?).
Individual pages (http://packages.debian.org/unstable/net/ipmasq) are
not affected.
