Ah- my apologies for this- I was playing around with NetworkManager- it
should (hopefully) be pretty stable now.

Well, I've never used WML before (although I've been looking at the docs
/examples now), so my changes were probably more focused on just getting
the job done.  I'll definitely look into making a more consistent/sane
format (hopefully without any HTML in it, unlike what I've done to it
now).

Ah, this was just laziness on my part (I wasn't expecting to make that
many changes)- I'll write a Perl script to extract the data tomorrow to
make changes simpler.

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren!
 
Es ist soweit gekommen, dass Protektion ganz allgemein mit Korruption 
verwechselt wird. Einst sprachen Dichter von einer "Protektion der Sterne?; das 
heißt: jemand schien durch die Sterne bereits in seinem Glück begünstigt zu 
sein. 
 
Ich bin kein Protektions-Kind! Nach fast 20Jahren der Selbständigkeit als 
Tischlermeister musste ich wegen der schlechten Zahlungsmoral einiger Kunden 
meine Firma schließen. Wie gewonnen, so zerronnen? so schließe ich dieses 
Kapitel in meinem Leben. Als junger Tischler habe ich zu Gunsten der Familie (2 
inzwischen erwachsene Söhne) einen Traum, nämlich als Tischer durch 
Deutschland, Östereich und die Schweiz zu ziehen und das Handwerk aus vielen 
Perspektiven kennenzulernen, verschoben. 
 
Eigentlich habe ich nicht geglaubt, dass ich jemals noch dazu zukommen werde. 
Nun mit 50 ? habe ich noch ein paar Jahre, dies nachzuholen. Leider bin ich 
nicht in der Lage, ein geeignetes, winterfestes Wohnmobil, in dem ich mit 
meinen beiden Hunden und Werkzeug durch die Lande ziehen kann, zu finanzieren. 
Darum suche ich auf diesem Wege einen wohltätigen Menschen der mich bei der 
Realisierung finanziell unterstützt (begünstigt im Sinne von Protektion). Für 
mich geht es nicht um Abzocke oder Abgreifen?.. sondern einfach um eine 
Starthilfe ?. in mein drittes Leben. Als kleine Gegenleistung kann ich meine 
handwerklichen Fähigkeiten und Ihre Werbung auf dem Fahrzeug anbieten. Falls 
Sie sich in der Lage sehen, mir den nötigen Anschub zukommen zu lassen, ist

There was something wrong with the patch (or perhaps something else) so I
just got an error saying it couldn't find leader.wml. I edited the files
manually, so it should be fixed now :)

IMHO it is /almost/ ready for committing - the remaining issue to resolve 
is to reduce the width of the table rows.

Unfortunately, your home DSL appears to be down often and I can't access 
your version of the page right now, so this is from memory.

One thing I've been thinking about is the set of offered architectures. 
IMHO it would be enough not to list each arch, but only to distinguish the 
cases "PC" (i386 and possibly amd64), "some" (some more arches, but not 
all; typically powerpc) and "all".

The other thing: WRT offered CD/DVD types, the information that's currently 
in the list is incorrect in many cases anyway, so instead of the "CD type" 
and "DVD type" entries, I'd just have one column "CD/DVD" which can have 
one of the values "CD", "DVD" or "CD+DVD". No more "non-US", "vendor 
release" etc. - that kind of thing is rarely offered by vendors these days.

Furthermore, the "title" attribute could be used. For example, just enter 
"no" in one table cell, but add the annotation title="Vendor does not allow 
dontations to the Debian project" (or whatever).

What is the new format? Have you switched to a descriptive, XML-like 
syntax? - that would be cool! It would also make the vendor.CD format 
future-proof in case there are more changes to the formatting. In WML, ISTR 
that you can store information with  and later recall it for the 
formatting of an entire vendor entry.

BTW, don't convert the entire list manually! In case your 
bash/perl/whatever scripting abilities are not up to writing a conversion 
script, just provide example manual conversions of the first entry or two, 
and I'll knock up something to convert the entire list.

   Attached is a patch to mention the Debian Auditor position on the
organization page. It's a bit "high" in the list, but since it's the
closest we have to a treasurer it doesn't strike me as inconsistent
to put it close to the secretary. Feel free to disagree and suggest
something else.

   I asked for an auditor generic alias to be added (RT#135) but since
there are more urgent tickets I don't want to wait for that to happen
before the web page is updated.

patch to the leader contact information

   Hello, attached is a patch that updates the recommended languages
for the leader contact information.

   I was unable to do the Japanese and Russian translations because I
have no idea what tool to use to get the proper encoding. I also left a
comment (not sure about the syntax, there might be a more appropriate
one for comments) for when the next leader is elected so that he/she
doesn't receive too much gibberish :-)
