Gluck has python-xm installed but not python-libxml2, if I run the script there:

$ make
/usr/bin/python2.4 parseDsa2Oval.py -d ../2000 >oval-definitions-2000.xml
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "parseDsa2Oval.py", line 15, in ?

line 13, in ?
import xml.dom.ext
ImportError: No module named ext
make: *** [oval-definitions-2000.xml] Error 1

The problem actually seems to be that python-xml just installs
python2.3-xml, whileas we need python2.4-xml instead.

Could a 'debwww' member please approve for the installation of the
python2.4-xml package?

What do you need python-libxml2 for? Seems to work fine here without
it... I only needed python-xml.

Right, I still had not finished that because I wanted to find a way to
have proper dependencies so not all per-year files are regenerated on
each run but just when it's needed (DSAs have been modified)

I didn't find a way to do that without depending on all data, wml
files so I might just add a dependency on $(wildcard
$(ENGLISHSRCDIR)/security/*/*.data).

I've took a look at that. But even when I activate oval as a SUBDIR,
nothing seems to be build anyway... You will need to add genxml as a
dependency of the all target and make it phony, I think.

I went to look at the new packages.d.o site, and eventually found myself
looking at
  http://packages.debian.org/sid/utils/3ddesktop
Now, it says
  Package: 3ddesktop (0.2.9-6) [gnuab]

My question was, "what's gnuab"? Is it a typo for something? Well,
eventually found that out fom the [EMAIL PROTECTED] post, but how is a regular
user, who does not subscribe to d-d-a, going to figure it out?

My suggestion is to have the "gnuab" word (and any other similar word) to be
a link to an explanatory page.

Confirmed, there seems to be a bug in the Accept-Language header
parsing that just takes the first one it finds.

Though, this fix will take a bit until it gets properly done, you might
want to append as a workaround to the resulting URL "?lang=en" - like in

 So long,

the three links under "View package lists", precisely

"View the packages in the stable distribution"
"View the packages in the testing distribution"
"View the packages in the unstable distribution"

Hi

This should work now.

In the past, with the old code, there have been times puccini was to
overloaded to get its work done and the result was something like what
you reported. While the new code is only running for a short time, the
load situation and behaviour of everything on the machine is already
considerably better, so I dont think you will have the problem again.

Bug#440628: packages.debian.org Search for parts of paths does not work anymore

2007-09-03 Thread Marcus C. Gottwald
Package: www.debian.org

Since the recent update of packages.debian.org (I think),
searching for parts of paths doesn't work anymore at
"http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages#search_contents";.

In the past, when I was looking for an executable whose name
starts with "fi", I used to enter "bin/fi" and choose
"packages that contain files whose names contain the keyword",
which would give me results such as "/usr/bin/file" as well as
"/sbin/findfs".

When doing the same now, I'm getting a "Sorry, your search
gave no results".

Can this be reverted to the old behaviour? Thanks!

Cheers, Marcus

Request for support of installation of python-libxml2

2007-09-03 Thread Javier Fernandez-Sanguino
Hi guys,

I'm going to introduce a script in the web server build environment
related to the work done by Pavel Vinogradov for the Google Summer of
Code (for more information see
http://wiki.debian.org/SummerOfCode2007/ovalagent). This Python script
requires a number of stuff which includes the python-libxml2 package.

The infraestructure to run the script is already there:
http://cvs.debian.org/webwml/english/security/oval/?root=webwml
but cannot be activated (oval is not defined as a SUBDIR in the
security directory) until the 'python-libxml2' package is installed in
gluck.debian.org (where the CVS is, to be able to test it out), and
klecker.debian.org (www-master.debian.org, where the CVS build is run).

I've asked DSA for this (rt.debian.org #160) but they are asking me
for "webmasters" (i.e. members of the 'debwww' group) to support my
request.

Could any of the webmasters in the list please support this request (a
signed email replying to this would suffice) so I can get DSA to
install that?

Thanks

Javier
