I was referring to the version in the webwml repository, and
checked-out copies of it.

I suspect what's required is to

 * modify the documentation build system to not publish this document
   and then
 * remove it from the website.

debian-doc people, does this sound right?

Is there a need to have duplicate copies? Could we remove the one
from the webwml repository?

Hmm, an FAQ entry has been available for ages:

  http://www.debian.org/CD/faq/#old

I've just updated the link in that FAQ entry to point to the right URL
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/archive/

Also, I've added a link to the FAQ entry at the bottom of /CD/ to the
sentence "For older releases,..". I don't think it makes sense to make the
link more prominent, the vast majority of users should be fine with the
current release. Or what do you think?

Cheers,

  Richard

I see your point, although I think that the release info pages are a
fairly target when searching for older releases.

So that page needs a section about older releases, with a general referral
to archive.d.o and a link to the release info page.

Or it should at least mention that the page is only valid for the current
releases (stable and to some extend testing).

Yes.

Thats not the way you go if you look for CD (DVD) images...

"I want CDs"
-> www.debian.org
   -> Getting Debian
   -> Download via [whatever] -> http://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/

Tells you nothing about older releases. Not even a single link to a site
that might.

Following "CD ISO images" leads to http://www.debian.org/CD/ which is
similar unhelpful.

This UI not usage good site. Or so.

I've added armel to parse-advisory.pl, which is used for preparing the
web versions of DSAs.

I'm not really sure how this script is used, but you probably should
update your copy.

Is it really that invisible?

Home page
-> Release info *or* "Read more about available versions of Debian."
-> Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 (etch)
-> installation information
->

http://www.debian.org/releases/etch/debian-installer/
Installing Debian GNU/Linux 4.0r7

which has direct links to http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/archive.
