Thanks for the compliments! I'm not sure if you're volunteering or
not, but if so, you can find information about how to do so at

Eventually. There are tools that allow each translation team to
determine when pages have changed so that they know when the
translations need to be updated, but I don't know how long it takes
them to get around to it.

If you're able to submit translations, please do so.

wiki manual on ldap integration -where to put it?

2009-03-25 Thread Lukasz Szybalski
Hello,
I have a wiki style manual on debian integration with ldap services,

1. samba and ldap
2. debian users authentication with ldap
3. linux client setup to authenticate to ldap.
...etc

Each section is its own wiki, and the final page has include for the
subsequent pages.

I wanted to put under
https://wiki.debian.org/DebianBusinessServer/LDAPIntegration since its
geared towards businesses, but I figured I ask first.

@Matt Kraai:
I was looking for checksum files for netinst iso at

Hmm, i must say i don't look at this FAQ (my fault), 'cause i don't
wanna download debian with jigdo (I used Gwget to have download resume

I'm copying the CD team, as they may already be familiar with this

Mini-HOWTO: Etch to Lenny using Radeon - Grafikboards (fglrx)

2009-03-25 Thread Peter Pranter
Since a had a lot of work to get this working, please publish this thread
on the net:

-
This mini-howto is published under GNU Public Licence V3. Copyright © 2009
by Dipl. Ing. Peter Pranter

1) sudo apt-get install "linux-headers" according to your default or
customized kernel
2) sudo apt-get source fglrx
3) sudo m-a a-i fglrx

To be sure to have the x-input-drivers ready:
a) sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-kbd
b) sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-mouse

4) sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

Have a look in the manual of your monitor(s). You need to know the
horizontal sync range, the vertical refresh range and the supported
resolutions of your interest.

5) sudo aticonfig --initial
--resolution=0,1280x1024,1024x768,800x600,720x576,640x480 --hsync=0,30-80
--vrefresh=0,55-75 for example.

Remarks:"aticonfig --initial ..." works only, if you have a clean
(dpkg-reconfigured) "/etc/X11/xorg.conf".
"0," before resolution etc. works on your first screen,
use "1," if you want to configure your second screen.

Please no claims, no reclamations. I publish this mini-howto in the hope
it may be usefull to you.
You may extend this howto, if you leave my copyright intact.

* the text is the following. The first line is very generic since we

Eaton helps Debian in protecting its infrastructure from power issues,
and employs a Debian Developer to work on UPS and Power Devices support
through the Network UPS Tools and related packages.

Eaton is a global technology leader in electrical components and systems
for power quality, distribution and control; hydraulics components,
systems and services for industrial and mobile equipment; aerospace
fuel, hydraulics and pneumatic systems for commercial and military use;
and truck and automotive drivetrain and powertrain systems for
performance, fuel economy and safety. Eaton has approximately 75,000
employees and sells products to customers in more than 150 countries,
with 2008 sales of $15.4 billion.

If needed, I can send the HTML code with links.
I see 2 links here:
- Eaton: http://www.eaton.com
- Network UPS Tools: http://www.networkupstools.org

As always, comments are welcome.
