The real URL to use for anonymous pserver is this one:
:pserver:anonym...@cvs.alioth.debian.org:/cvsroot/webwml

It's the one documented on:
https://alioth.debian.org/scm/?group_id=1135

The configuration of the pserver restrict the path of the repositories
to the official URL, and despite the cvs -> cvsroot symlink, it will not
accept it.

(see /usr/share/gforge/plugins/scmcvs/sbin/cvs-pserver on alioth)

You probably want to update this somewhere in the docs.

Cheers,

Forget it. I was confused about the CVS commit messages on the
debian-www-cvs@lists.debian.org mailing list:

CVSROOT:/cvs/webwml

Module name:webwml

Changes by: cvs_webwml 06/08/08 13:35:33

Modified files:

danish/News/2006: 20060724.wml

Log message:

Commit by Kaare: Version bump

It seems I'm not the only one who thinks that cvs_webwml occurs in the
log, since Kaare added his name to the log message too.

Great! Thanks Debian admins!

Joey Hess told in
  http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2003/debian-boot-200312/msg00584.html
that pserver has been shut down, no idea when it is back.
For debian-boot stuff, you can get PO files from
  http://people.debian.org/~barbier/d-i/l10n/
and submit bugreports to have them committed.
These pages are updated from time to time because cronjobs on gluck are
also disabled.

webwml or debian-boot. Could someone tell me when it will be possible?

Second beta of debian-installer is coming up and I'd like to translate

hello people,

who should we talk to to get Philipe a cvs account? he wants to contribute
to the web page translation and sending me the wmls is quite suboptimal for
both me and he, he wants to permanently contribute and my translation team
needs this very much as I am the only really active member in the team,
error is currently quite busy in his real life as is Carlos Laviola, I think
we'll be able to keep the quality high if Philipe would help me on updating/
translating, is it possible to get this for a non-developer?

(if you check my last commits you'll see lots of "done by: Philipe
" on the ports/ section, he's doing a good job)

Actually, I went ahead and implemented the system. It's now running at

I think it's needed, and I don't think it would be too much work. You
simply need a date field (but you need that anyway) and a cron job
which kills old entries should be easy. We can have a SQL database on
pandora; shouldnt be too hard.

i tryed to solve this problem, but i think solution is bigger than the

have to be of tipe "date" in the db, then i have to foresee another

considering the total number of this kind of entries i don't think

ask here for CVs access so that we can put the key signing page on the

Heh :) Can you tell me where its linked from, starting from the main
page? I'd hazard a guess that it's a few links deep and not many people
find it...

Nils.

It's only advertised in the translators information on the website, but
you can access the source by visiting http://cvs.debian.org/webwml
or using cvs directly with:
  cvs -d :pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvs/webwml login
  cvs -d :pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvs/webwml checkout webwml/

It would be useful if you people merely read the web pages about helping
with Debian web pages :> http://www.debian.org/devel/website/using_cvs

anon cvs access to wml sources

2000-07-27 Thread Nils Lohner

At the 0thDC people suggested 'packaging' the debian web site so
people could download it and submit patches to it but a better idea
may be allowing anonymous cvs read access to the wml to let people
file bugs with patches against www (I forget what the virtual web package
is called).

That way people can cvs co just the root, the templates dir, and whatever
part they want to patch... I think that makes your webadmin task a lot
easier... people give you patches and you just read, check and apply them...
most of the work is done for you.

I can put together a list of essential files (I'm doing that anyway to move
the SPI pages to purcel.spi-inc.org) and a brief page on what's needed to
build the pages.

I talked to Craig on IRC already, and he agrees that it's a good idea.

Regards, Nils.

No, I'm not a developer.
Now that i've read the message one more time, I see that it I had
misunderstood it.

It said
[...]
A number of developers have accounts for accessing the Debian web pages.
Could you switch to using cvs over ssh? Simply send me mail and I'll
delete you password and add you to the debwww group on va.
[...]

And I thought that this was said to all the translators and that adding to
the debwww group would be sufficient to use the SSH method.

Anyway, never mind. Forgive my mistake

Marcin

CVS over ssh is only for translators who are also developers. A
'finger Marcin' on master does not show you as having an account
so I assume you aren't one. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

CVS access method change

2000-01-20 Thread Marcin Owsiany
Hi!
Once you asked translators to change to using ssh to access CVS.
I have a difficult network situation (behind a firewall) and i am making
some tricks to get access to the repository, so needed some time to check if
I would be able to use CVS after changing the method.

Now that I've done some doc reading and experiments it seems that it will be
OK, but there's this password problem.

Namely, I don't remember the password, I only have in .cvspass.
So please either tell me the way to extract it from there or whom should I
mail the password to have it changed (or set separately for ssh - if this
method is using diffirent authentication)?

regards
Marcin

CVS access to debian web pages for developers

A number of developers have accounts for accessing the Debian web pages.

delete you password and add you to the debwww group on va.

If you don't know how to access cvs using ssh, take a look at
http://www.debian.org/devel/HOWTO_translate .
