Re: Debian Server problems
Hi! Thanks for your mails, I won't write one answer for each of you for this would waste too much resources (both mine and mailservers). You noticed some problems with some Debian services. Unfortunately you doesn't seem to have noticed on the various news sites which are linked from [1] that some Debian machines got compromised and were thus services were shut down to be able to inspect the incident more closely. So please be a little bit patient, most of the services are back again, only gluck is missing on which cvs.debian.org, packages.debian.org and people.debian.org are hosted. On [1] you also have a link to the original advisory which was sent out and hit the archives already. I would strongly suggest to subscribe to the debian-security-announce list at least. I ask you once again. What about some additional header on every Debian page? It's quite simple to implement and it has worked fine with software patents protest. I've read somewhere that there should be other informations about this problem on wednesday... but it seems that whole this stuff will be much longer :/ regards fEnIo -- _ Bartosz Feński aka fEnIo | mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] | pgp:0x13fefc40 _|_|_32-050 Skawina - Głowackiego 3/15 - w. małopolskie - Polska (0 0) phone:+48501608340 | ICQ:46704720 | GG:726362 | IRC:fEnIo ooO--(_)--Ooo http://skawina.eu.org | JID:[EMAIL PROTECTED] | RLU:172001 signature.asc Description: Digital signature

I try to explain once again: CVS is currently down, so the pages can't be automatically generated. This is also the mixed language problem on e.g. the polish pages, because Joey tried to get the announce on the pages by hacking on the mirror itself. It would bring up much more problems than it saves (like the sync with the cvs when its up again, more cruft lying around -- and the people that could do it are the same that are working on getting gluck back up). Sorry I didn't know that adding it is problem. I was mislead by news about 3.0r2 and compromise. They were added after compromise so I thought that adding next info is quite easy. regards fEnIo -- _ Bartosz Feński aka fEnIo | mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] | pgp:0x13fefc40 _|_|_32-050 Skawina - Głowackiego 3/15 - w. małopolskie - Polska (0 0) phone:+48501608340 | ICQ:46704720 | GG:726362 | IRC:fEnIo ooO--(_)--Ooo http://skawina.eu.org | JID:[EMAIL PROTECTED] | RLU:172001 signature.asc Description: Digital signature
