The packages page does not seem to update anymore with new packages
Dear maintainer, A couple of days ago I noticed that the pages for the new packages no longer update. For instance, the one for experimental still lists gimp 2.99.x and kodi 20a1, which were added like 10 days ago. Likewise, new packages like the ones made from kernel 5.18 are not listed at all. Moreover, search does not return results for new versions of packages. E.g. samba for unstable is listed at 2 minor updates behind (4.16.1+dfsg-4 vs 4.16.1+dfsg-6 that is today, the kernel too (5.17.6-1 vs 5.17.11-1), while there are others that are missing completely, e.g. linux-image-amd64 5.18-1~exp1 for experimental. I use the page's rss feature on thunderbird so as to stay informed for new packages and this issue is a dealbreaker for me. Thank you in advance :)

Bug#277815: links to services from the pseudo-packages page

Paul Wise just advised to link from the pseudo-packages page [3], that's done now, thanks for the idea. 3: http://www.debian.org/Bugs/pseudo-packages He also advised that other pseudo-packages may benefit some links too, maybe those links don't need to be about the whole description (e.g. a link to the wiki on “Problems with the *Debian wiki*” only to the bold part), but that's not possible with the current build process (the descriptions are automatically shipped from the BTS [4]), and I don't even now how this upstream list is generated, but maybe such links could be handled in coordination with the BTS. 4: http://bugs.debian.org/pseudopackages/pseudo-packages.description Regards David signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

But its not very convenient right now to look at the headers in bug reports, so I usually skip them (sometimes I look at the date). Otherwise: Yes, I see the error > http://packages.debian.org/lusernet.app works fine, as does making the > appropriate change in the PTS search and URL. Unfortunately you also skipped b) of my mail. This is also the reason that the bug report you quoted says `Maintainer for lusernet is (unknown)'. Many of the gnustep packages were renamed to add `.app' to their names, including lusernet. Hence the subject of the mail to 289601-done: Subject: lusernet is no longer present and lusernet.app is fixed http://packages.debian.org/lusernet.app works fine, as does making the appropriate change in the PTS search and URL. The PTS should probably be fixed to cope better with no longer existing / renamed / merged source packages, but I'm not entirely sure what the best way to do that would be. Now slink is stable and the package description pages for hamm have disappeared. I don't know what to do about it. If I could get the scripts that generate these pages, maybe I could generate them for hamm. But they seem to rely on a complete source and binary tree. Perhaps they can be generated once for hamm (and bo?) . I don't even know if they are currently generated dynamically or not. Adam, the file : distcomp/conf_files/conf.hamm.slink looks like this: --- require 'conf.all.pre'; # name and number of new dist. $nname = "slink"; $nnum = "2.1"; # name and number of old dist $oname = "hamm"; $onum = "2.0"; # If either of these are unset, then the link will not be made. # This is the path for the newer release (not necc unstable) $debian_org_base_unst = $debian_org_base . "unstable/"; # This is the path for the older release (not necc, the current stable one) $debian_org_base_st = $debian_org_base . "stable/"; require 'conf.all.post'; --- ( um.. "necc" is a bad abreviation for "necessary") You see the lines that determine where to find the package descriptions. Currently, we need $debian_org_base_unst = $debian_org_base . "stable/"; and leave $debian_org_base_st undefined. This will look under "stable" for slink descriptions and will not make a link for hamm descriptions. htdig database erased prematurely - packages page updated
I accidentally erased the htdig database prematurely (used in searching the Packages pages). It should be fixed after the next mirror update and the new package.html page is installed. To avoid complaints, any translations of the packages page should be updated. Jay Treacy
