Did you read the documentation on http://www.debian.org/devel/website/ ? It has documents describing what to do and in which order. Ok folks, After banging my head against the wall a few times (first time I ever used CVS, nowhere in the manpage does it say how to create a ~/.cvspass file, I finally ended up just touch(1)ing it), I managed to check out the dutch and english modules from cvs. Now, seeing as that the english module downloaded a whole mess of files, the question for me is: Where do I start? Any parts of the webpage that require priority work in translating? I generally have my browser set to english when visiting www.debian.org, but rather than switching to dutch and just randomly start browsing, maybe some of you have a suggestion? I don't know where, but there's a what.html in the Debian's Web Page that is all about it... Let me quote a part of it here: Once you start translating pages, we recommend you start with pages that users are most likely to visit (in rough order of importance): * Most important: main page, .wml files in the main directory. Files in the following directories: intro, misc, releases, distrib, doc, events, searchtmpl and security(*). Also create the translated images for the navigation bar. * Standard: Files in the following directories: Bugs, banners, logos, MailingLists(*), consultants, ports, partners and News(*). * Least Important: Files in the devel(*), vote and mirror directories. Since they are mostly for developers, and the primary language of developers is English, it is only when you have a strong translation team should you attempt to tackle these. Files or directories marked by an asterisk, '*', above are modified frequently, so are harder to keep up to date. hope it helps...
