To make sure the comment is still in the pot file if it is updated you
should indeed add the comment to the source file and let xgettext do the
work.

tell 
the user that the next time he should write in English, did you? Please do 
so...user education better than documentation. :-P

Done. In the past I added already a note to send typos in the German
translation to [EMAIL PROTECTED] but I forgot to mention that
debian-www is an English list.

The typo note is now already a long time part of nearly each Debian
page. The number of corresponding posts to [EMAIL PROTECTED] is
0 if I count correctly :-)(
