And I didn't remove SGML entities from the file -- from the portions of the
file that get displayed on public web pages. Putting HTML entities into
email addresses intended for internal use is not needed, so I removed those,
and only those.

version 4.2.2.  It's in unstable.  No, we won't release it for stable
earlier than sarge becomes stable for it has to go through the testing
period before.  That's the way debian works.

 Btw., this is the wrong list, it is for the website coordination, not
for such questions.  debian-user would have been a better place.

If like me, you want to install Debian from scratch and have access to a
fast internet connection + CD burner, download the 2.2r CD image files from
http://www.linuxiso.org/debian.html and burn them on CDs.
You can also get the latest testing (i.e. woody release) iso images from
ftp://ftp.fsn.hu/pub/CDROM-Images/debian-unofficial/woody/ .

For more general info , read http://www.debian.org/distrib/ .
Installation manuals are available at:
http://www.debian.org/releases/potato/installmanual (stable)
http://www.debian.org/releases/woody/installmanual (testing)

It is recommended to download woody rather then potato- err, at least I
think so - someone correct me if i'm wrong... :-)

Hah! This person doesn't know how to write Subject: in e-mail, doesn't know
that HTML isn't useful in e-mail, and hasn't read the the /distrib/ page
which says the Installation manual contains this information.

Obviously, he is pointing out a real flaw in our system. But I wonder if the
flaw is of technical or social nature... or maybe I'm just getting too old
for this.

The server is down, yes, the notion of restricted is about who can get an
account there.
