Search interface for mailing list sucks
Hello, today I tried http://lists.debian.org/search.html to search for a certain subject I was sure that it exists in one of the mails I was seeking for and selected the according mailing list. The search did not found any result. I'd like to generalize this experience and have to admit that I was never able to find anything useful in this search form. I'd like to ask now others about their experiences. I'm to busy to search the BTS for relevant bug reports but I hope we could come up with a reasonable way to go to fix this brocken search page. Kind regards Andreas.

Try this instead: http://people.debian.org/~terpstra/splash/index.en.html It's better in many ways than official one. regards fEnIo -- _ Bartosz Fenski | mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] | pgp:0x13fefc40 | IRC:fEnIo _|_|_ 32-050 Skawina - Glowackiego 3/15 - w. malopolskie - Polska (0 0) phone:+48602383548 | Slackware - the weakest link ooO--(_)--Ooo http://skawina.eu.org | JID:[EMAIL PROTECTED] | RLU:172001 signature.asc Description: Digital signature

My test from today worked like a charm (I would prefer Any language as default, but this is a minor glitch and people might think differently about it). Is there any reason why we support a broken Search interface on our official web pages (as I said, I was NEVER able to do a reasonable search with it) while a working one is more or less hidden. Why not at least adding a link to this working search page? Bartosz, thanks for maintaining this fine workaround!! Andreas.

Why not at least adding a link to this working search page? I have no idea. I found this better search system when its maintainer ask on i18n lists for translations. Bartosz, thanks for maintaining this fine workaround!! Don't thank me, but the original author ;) It is Wesley W. Terpstra and it's mentioned on the bottom of this search system. regards fEnIo -- _ Bartosz Fenski | mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] | pgp:0x13fefc40 | IRC:fEnIo _|_|_ 32-050 Skawina - Glowackiego 3/15 - w. malopolskie - Polska (0 0) phone:+48602383548 | Slackware - the weakest link ooO--(_)--Ooo http://skawina.eu.org | JID:[EMAIL PROTECTED] | RLU:172001 signature.asc Description: Digital signature
