Very, very, very strange: this is supposed to tell me how to get Linux...yet, there is not a single link anywhere on this site that will actually enable me to download the file(s). You provide a link to a page about mirrors (and there is no link there to download), network installation (and there is no link there to download), CD images [whatever that is] (and there is no link there to download), ad nauseum. Tell me- why, when I read your information about downloading Linux, can't I find anything about how to download it?
Re: http://www.debian.org/distrib/ftplist
Hi William! You wrote: Tell me- why, when I read your information about downloading Linux, = can't I find anything about how to download it? I guess you haven't bothered reading the installation manual (http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/i386/install)? Chapter 4 explains all the different ways you can install (and download) debian. Anyway, your question is off-topic here. You should post to debian-user instead. BTW: Posting in HTML is considered rude. Re: http://www.debian.org/distrib/ftplist
William Kuns: You provide a link to a page about mirrors (and there is no link there to download), No link? On URL:http://www.debian.org/mirror/list there 548 links, most of which lead directly to the Debian archives. True, they are not very helpful without the installation manual since you won't know *what* to download. The install manual is directly linked from the front page, under Documentation. network installation (and there is no link there to download), There is a link to minimal cd which lists places to download network install cds, and a link to disks which tells you what to download to get the installation disks, and provides a link to the 548 links above. CD images [whatever that is] (and there is no link there to download), The CD page contains several download links, in clear sight. Tell me- why, when I read your information about downloading Linux, can't I find anything about how to download it? Well, since the links are obvious and in plain sight, I don't know what is wrong. You could try either turning on your monitor, or clearing your glasses. -- \\// Peter - http://www.softwolves.pp.se/ I do not read or respond to mail with HTML attachments.
