At least in XF3, this was not possible. It might have changed in XF4, but I severely doubt it. It's a limitation of the X protocol; the root window can not be resized. Re: phase2v12, 2.4-test9-pre7 and DRI again.
I'm running the phase2v12 debs and a 2.4.0-test7 kernel with a G400Max. In order to run DRI I grabbed the latest CVS from dri.sourceforge.net, did a compile, and grabbed the mga.o file that was created. I much prefer this method to using the module that comes with the kernel, as it is not as up to date. phase2v12, 2.4-test9-pre7 and DRI again.
Just a couple of days ago I read that report from unworking DRI with phase2v10 and kernel 2.4-test8. I've installed the test9-pre7 -kernel, but DRI do not work anyway. Every GL-app gives the error message: Xlib: sequence lost (0x1 > 0x14) in reply type 0x0! X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) Major opcode of failed request: 0 () Serial number of failed request: 0 Current serial number in output stream: 20 My video-adapter is Matrox G400 32mt.

A small question
Hello, First off I would like to thank Branden for all the great work he is doing. Secound I am having a little problem. I doing think it is a problem with the packages but more of a configuration problem. When I put the more "1600x1200" into my list of mode lines I get as expected 1600x1200 except that in all other resulutions I get a 1600x1200 screen size on a what ever resolution screen, the screen then does a pan and scan of the 1600x1200 area. I don't use 1600x1200 that offen but I do like to have it there without having to edit my XF86Config nd restart my X Server everytime. Thanks in advance Gordon.
