Bug#168232: FW: Xwindows server won't start up on iBook 600mhz with Radeon mobility M6 LY card

2002-11-07 Thread Michel Dänzer

This chip isn't supported by the 4.1.0 radeon driver, you need 4.2.0 or
later, or use the fbdev driver.

In the source. :) Other drivers have manpages, the radeon driver not yet
unfortunately. Someone posted a draft to the Xpert list a while ago,
would be nice if that would make it into 4.3.0 .

Bug#161072: xlibs: XScreenSaverQueryInfo broken on Alpha

2002-11-07 Thread Falk Hueffner
Hi,

here's a patch for this bug from Jay Estabrook. It would be nice if
you could add it to the Debian patches till it gets included upstream.

Thanks,

Find the diffs at the end that'll fix it, then rebuild libXss.a.

They mimic what was done in various other *proto.h files in that
same directory, ie

xc/include/extensions/

I'm going to Cc: this to some of the XFree86 folks as well...

Enjoy!

Bug#128435: xbase-clients: Same xclipboard paste problem with LC_ALL=es_ES@euro

2002-11-07 Thread Esteban Manchado Velázquez
Package: xbase-clients
Version: 4.2.1-3
Followup-For: Bug #128435

I've just read the bug report from Alexander Kotelnikov about not being able
to paste 8bit content in X. I have the same problem, only with:

$ env | egrep LC
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_CTYPE=ISO_8859_1

I don't know how can I help you reproduce the bug, or if it's only my fault and
not a bug in xclipboard.

One more comment: when I write, say, "áéioú" in one term (rxvt), *I can* paste
it in the same term. But, when I open another rxvt, only "io" gets pasted (?).

Ah, I found out a small problem. I'm using a prebuilt Debian kernel, so
the modules ended up in the wrong directory.
So, I tried again, by first specifying:
  export APPEND_TO_VERSION=-k7
then
  make-kpkg modules_image
(on a fresh kernel source and drm-trunk source tree)

After this:
goemon:/usr/src# dpkg -i
drm-trunk-module-2.4.19-k7_10.00.Custom+2002.10.02-1_i386.deb
(Reading database ... 88700 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking drm-trunk-module-2.4.19-k7 (from
drm-trunk-module-2.4.19-k7_10.00.Custom+2002.10.02-1_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing

YES! This solves the problem!
So, what could be the cause of the problem and what is the disadvantage
of the SWcursor? (I guess it's slower in some way...)

I never knew this was a valid option for the Driver. Is there a list of

Bug#161072: xlibs: XScreenSaverQueryInfo broken on Alpha

2002-11-07 Thread Falk Hueffner
Hi,

here's a patch for this bug from Jay Estabrook. It would be nice if
you could add it to the Debian patches till it gets included upstream.

Thanks,

Find the diffs at the end that'll fix it, then rebuild libXss.a.

They mimic what was done in various other *proto.h files in that
same directory, ie

xc/include/extensions/

I'm going to Cc: this to some of the XFree86 folks as well...

Enjoy!

Bug#128435: xbase-clients: Same xclipboard paste problem with LC_ALL=es_ES@euro

2002-11-07 Thread Esteban Manchado Velázquez
Package: xbase-clients
Version: 4.2.1-3
Followup-For: Bug #128435

I've just read the bug report from Alexander Kotelnikov about not being able
to paste 8bit content in X. I have the same problem, only with:

$ env | egrep LC
LC_ALL=es_ES@euro
LC_CTYPE=ISO_8859_1

I don't know how can I help you reproduce the bug, or if it's only my fault and not a
bug in xclipboard.

One more comment: when I write, say, "áéioú" in one term (rxvt), *I can* paste
it in the same term. But, when I open another rxvt, only "io" gets pasted (?).

Ah, I found out a small problem. I'm using a prebuilt Debian kernel, so
the modules ended up in the wrong directory.
So, I tried again, by first specifying:
  export APPEND_TO_VERSION=-k7
then
  make-kpkg modules_image
(on a fresh kernel source and drm-trunk source tree)

After this:
goemon:/usr/src# dpkg -i
