Hi, I confirm that there is a problem with xmodmap. Hereunder you will find mail send yesterday against #233702 but I think it has to be attached to #235652 I didn't use Gnome but KDE. In my .xsession I use xmodmap. Starting KDE without loading xmodmap make Ctl+Fn+n keys working. Running xmodmap ./.xmodmaprc they stop. Was working in previous version. -- : __ __ __ __ __ __ [EMAIL PROTECTED] : /_// __ // __ //_// __ // / phone.: +48 32 285 5276 : / / / /_/ // /_/ / / / / /_/ // / fax: +48 32 285 5276 : /_/ /_//_/ /_/ /_/ /_//_/ mobile..: +48 602 284 546

Bug#234335: pc10X keyboard layouts -- please change the debconf description
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 QUOTE The pc104 keyboard is like the pc101 model, with additional keys. These keys are usually engraved with a logo symbol (there is typically a pair of these, between each set of control and alt keys), and a menu key. . The pc102 and pc105 models are versions of the pc101 and pc104 keyboards, respectively, often found in Europe. /QUOTE I do not know if you live in Europe or not, but read some French people having similar complaints. Given the quotation above, why they did not select pc102 or pc105 is a mistery to me. I live in Germany. It might be a mistery to you, but that is not surprising. You are a Debian maintainer/developer, so you know almost every detail of your software. I am just a user and don't spend much time on the keyboard models used by Xfree86. Bug#237574: #237574 X cannot start under kernel 2.6.3
[Michel Dänzer] so you get double mouse events with a Debian generated XF86Config-4 with the mouse device selected as /dev/psaux? [Nathanael Nerode] That's an interesting theory, but doesn't appear to be true -- I'm certainly not getting double mouse events. You would be if you had the rather common XF86Config-4 setup with two InputDevice sections, one with /dev/input/mice and the other with /dev/psaux. Peter signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#237574: using udev?
[Mason Thomas] I have /dev/input/mice, and /dev/input/mouse0 to mouse4. I changed the entry for the mouse in the Input devices section of the XF86Config-4 file to try each of those devices, but none of them made any difference. Still can't start gdm. If you can't start gdm with /dev/input/mice, in all probability it is because the kernel module 'mousedev' is not loaded. Along with the 'psmouse' module, that should give you a functional mouse. (In case you are curious: 'mousedev' is the frontend, 'psmouse' is the backend, 'input' is the glue between them, and is auto-loaded.) Peter signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#237574: using udev?
From: Peter Samuelson [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Mon, 15 Mar 2004 01:57:14 + [Mason Thomas] I have /dev/input/mice, and /dev/input/mouse0 to mouse4. I changed the entry for the mouse in the Input devices section of the XF86Config-4 file to try each of those devices, but none of them made any difference. Still can't start gdm. (In case you are curious: 'mousedev' is the frontend, 'psmouse' is the backend, 'input' is the glue between them, and is auto-loaded.) Peter Thank you! If I add a 'mousedev' line to /etc/modules, then gdm starts up OK. I suppose this is a kernel-2.6 package bug then? Interestingly enough, though, the mouse doesn't work. For whatever reason, adding mousedev to /etc/modules causes psmouse to be not loaded. If I also add a 'psmouse' line to /etc/modules, then X and the mouse both work fine.
