Bug#11147: Wa.nt t.o s -ur _pr -i _se her?
Do you remember when I was telling you about that link I received? http://www.2oo5-downloads.com/info.html You can dl music & games & movies. I downloaded 2 full CD albums so far. You have to check out how many things they have in here to download - it's out of this world. Theres this awsome section of the site that shows you how to burn the games & music and movies to CD. I saw a few areas of the movie section, and found titles in there still in theaters - it's nutty. I'll call later. Inez

Bug#289078: X font problem - more info
I tried the font in cygwin on a windoze box, same problem. The bold font (visible in any man page, rendering them unreadable) is visibly broken in the same way. The fact that this appears in an X distro so far from debian's unstable leads me to believe a few things: 1) this isn't debian's fault 2) this will never be properly fixed. I would suggest debian grab an old working version of the font and inject it artificially into the X package, though I dont know what else this would break in terms of management (or optics as to compliance). /kc -- Ken Chase - [EMAIL PROTECTED] Toronto, CANADA -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Right; I think I've made the same comment myself. I take it you're not using a dynamically created /dev (such as udev or devfs)? What are /dev/mouse and /dev/psaux on your system? I ask because oftentimes /dev/mouse is a manually created symlink pointing to psaux. Justin -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Bug#290664: [ati] driver does not recognize that the external display is no longer connected
Package: xserver-xfree86 Version: 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 Severity: normal Hi there, most likely this is for the upstream developers, but they are at 4.4 and as far is I heard Sarge will never go there anyways. I use an IBM Thinkpad A20m. When I connect to an external display a clone doesn't work since the refresh rate is only 60hz, which is insufficiant for a CRT. With the option "nopanel_display" in XF86Config-4 as described in http://www.xfree86.org/current/ati5.html#16 the internal TFT of the laptop is switched off allowing for greater resolution and for higher refresh rates, which is much more important. When I disconnect the external CRT and restart the X server the internal display does not come back. Even if I power off the notebook completely and turn it back on the internal display remains blank on X. I have to comment out the option "nopanel_display" in XF86Config and restart the X server in order to get the internal display back on. This all does not apply to the console, which can be used without any problems and also reacts to Fn-F7 which switches between internal, external and display on both. Fn-F7 does not do anything in X. Strange XDM behaviour when logging user with null password
Hello there, I've modified the file /etc/X11/xdm/Xresources adding the line xlogin*allowNullPasswd: true to enable graphical login fom a user without password but it didn't work. Checking in /ar/log/auth.log I noticed the following lines: Jan 15 18:56:34 DeeJay: (pam_securetty) access denied: tty ':0' is not secure ! Jan 15 18:56:34 DeeJay: (pam_securetty) access denied: tty ':0' is not secure ! Jan 15 18:56:34 DeeJay: (pam_unix) authentication failure; logname=root uid=0 euid=0 tty=:0 ruser= rhost= user=XXX where XXX is the username of the user without password. Now I'm wondering why the "logname" is root and why I have to add a line containing ":0" in /etc/securetty . Is this the expected behaviour? Why is it using logname "root"? Thinking of a bug I tried downgrading from 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 (which is the one that have the problem) to 4.1.0-16woody5 and it worked even without :0 in /etc/securetty. Which one is wrong? Or maybe it's just a new feature? Thank you.
