Hi,

there's a bug in the x11-common.preinst script at line 914.
It's just a simple "-" missing before the eq.

I don't know if this breaks anything but i report it anyway.

Regards,
Matthias

Package: xserver-common
Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-8
Severity: Normal

When upgrading xserver-common to 6.8.2.dfsg.1-8 it conflicts with
xserver-xfree86, introduced as a result of bug #318425, which is all
fine but it does leave /etc/X11/X linking to /bin/true and no xserver on
the system. I don't think this is quite the expected behavior, if the
xserver-xfree86 is to be removed from the system surely the package
should be replaced with an xserver package, most likely xserver-xorg?

Kind regards,

Adrian

Package: xdm
Version: 6.8.99.900.dfsg.1-0pre1
Severity: important

/etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config has path for chooser
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/chooser, but it was moved to /usr/X11R6/bin/chooser.
This breaks querying xdm with -indirect until manually fixed. The attached
patches update patches/debian/905_debian_xdm.diff to change chooser path in
xdm/Imakefile and xdm/config/Imakefile to generate appropriate xdm-config.

Bug#333960: config script should honour preseeded debconf value for keyboard/options

2005-10-14 Thread Miroslav Kure
Package: xserver-xorg

Hi,

the config script sets debconf variable
xserver-xorg/config/inputdevice/keyboard/options without actually
checking for existing preseeded value and therefore overwrides it
headlessly.

You can trigger this easily on new installs in Czech where
localization-config sets
  .../keyboard/layout to us,cz_qwerty
  .../keyboard/options to grp:shift_toggle,grp_led:scroll

but after this config we end up with empty .../keyboard/options, thus
locking users in foreign keyboard layout.

On a similar note, dpkg-reconfigure initializes value of
xserver-xorg/config/inputdevice/keyboard/layout with value based on
installation keyboard and not with current debconf value, which I
consider rather strange.

I just want the minimum scrolling-around possible and that scrolling
takes place on the CRT, as it's extremely disturbing on the Laptop
display (which I work on).

XFree86 was close, because I could use the full 1600 pixel in width and
the full height (which would be 1050)...

I think XFree86 might also have set up my monitor for 1680x1050 if I had
told it to (via a proper Modes line).

ATM I again can't check, but...

> If not, please provide an XFree86 logfile for comparison.

That could be a problem :-( It seems that I have 3 log files left, one
from a try with Radeon's MergedFB, one from another location where a 17"
monitor as 2nd head is used and a last one that seems to use 1400x1050
but I'm pretty sure that I did not have to scroll 200 or 280 pixel to
the left...

As I currently have the benefit of having dsl here I'll setup a small
Sarge system using XFree86 and get a fresh log on Sunday. I'll also test
with X.org the 1400x1050 then.

Andreas

Does it also happen if you do any (combination) of the following?

  * Comment out the Load "dri" line in Section "Module"
  * Add Option "RenderAccel" "off" to the radeon Section "Device"

Also, the log file shows several X server generations, which is probably
a side-effect of using KDE. It would be interesting if the problem also
occurs during the first server generation.

I'm still not quite sure exactly what you'd like to achieve and why
XFree86 was closer to it than X.Org, but my best guess so far is that
it's because X.Org now actually knows a 1680x1050 mode for the CRT,
whereas XFree86 didn't. If you change the SubSection "Display" of
"Screen1" to something like

SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1400x1050" # change to the mode you want on the CRT
Virtual 1680 1050
EndSubSection

Does that come closer to what you want? If not, please provide an
XFree86 logfile for comparison.

Bug#333921: priority of mouse template too low

2005-10-14 Thread Robert Millan
Package: xserver-xorg
Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-8
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

The priority of mouse template (medium) is too low, and unsuitable for use
with a LiveCD: Since the /etc/init.d/xserver-xorg script intended for LiveCD
usage uses "-phigh" when configuring this package, mice won't be configured
unless they can be configured automaticaly via mdetect, which:

  a) doesn't always work
  b) doesn't work on all platforms (currently not available for GNU/kFreeBSD)

Damn brother

You'll never guess what happened to me today.

Basically found
dirty date site that doesn't costs a dime.

So many nasty girls are there messaging and meeting eachother.

And it's clear there is someone (or more than one) for you.

Although most of them want one-nighters, there are also those who like it
serious.
