Bug#362641: Making xorg-server FTBFS RC

2006-07-08 Thread Adeodato Simó
severity 362641 serious
thanks

Hi,

I'm raising the severity of this bug to critical because, although
xorg-server was never compiled in s390 before (thus bug was filed with
severity: important), it provides binary packages like xvfb that used to
be available for s390 and now are not, causing other packages to FTBFS
due to unmet build-dependencies.

Cheers,

This is the nvidia driver interfering with the official X server
package, so it is a bug in the former.

Bug#377386: xserver-xorg-video-s3: s3 driver does not work after upgrade to 7.0

2006-07-08 Thread Anton Martchukov
Package: xserver-xorg-video-s3
Version: 1:0.3.5.4-3
Severity: important

After upgrade to Xorg 7, xserver is unable to start up with s3 driver
enabled. The system seems not to freeze, but it's impossible to kill
xserver using ctrl+c or swith console using ctrl+alt+Fx. I still can
reboot system using ctrl+alt+del. Screen is blank, the attached is a log
file at the moment where X stops.

The configuration file (attached) is unchanged from the previous xorg 6.9
release. I've commented out the line loading s3 driver and repleced it
with vesa driver. With vesa driver is working, but, when switched back
to s3 it is not.

Bug#366500: Problem not fixed?

Not really. None of the files causing trouble in your mandb output
is from xbase-clients. The ones I have left quoted are from
libxau-dev, which had a similar bug, and for which a fix is pending.
Please be patient. The rest of the output is even more irrelevant...

Thanks,
Vasilis

2006-07-08 Thread Bart Martens
Package: xfs
Version: 1:1.0.1-5

Please apply the attached patch or provide some other way to have the
directory /var/lib/defoma/x-ttcidfont-conf.d/dirs/TrueType/ added to the
the line begining with "catalogue = " in /etc/X11/fs/config. That is
part of the fix for bug 363378. Thanks.
