Bug#378081: "Cannot read V_BIOS" memory allocation error
My attempts to munge it into the current source (without knowledge of C) didn't result in a successful start. Do you still have a working source tree you can diff against? Unfortunately this looks suspiciously like a feature reversion rather than an actual bugfix. But I guess it can tide me over until the sysfs interface for this get sorted out. Assuming I can get that patch working, that is. signature.asc Description: Digital signature
[Fwd: Fwd: [Forced VAC] Now - ?]
Forwarding this on for David. Along these lines, my plan is to get 7.1 into experimental, then sid, and then upload to backports.org (I've already got a working backport of 7.1 server, 7.1's i810 driver, plus a mix of 7.0 and 7.1 libs; see http://mouth.squishy.cc/~dilinger/xorg-bpo/). Last night, I got all the proto packages completely lintian-clean (and updated for a few new upstream releases); I will upload those to unstable/experimental tonight. Gravity had already updated the few proto packages that were new for 7.1, so this is mostly a cleanup of the existing 7.0 stuff. After that, I'll start on the libs stuff. Some of the libs have already been updated for 7.1, but most have not. I expect that to take a little while; we also need to get mesa and libdrm updated in order to allow things to build. If anyone has any concerns/reasons why I should hold of on anything I've planned, do let me know. --- Begin Message --- Hey dude, I've just tried sending this mail for a second time and it hasn't appeared on-list for either -x or -private that I can see. You are right, dpkg -L listed files in /usr/lib/X11/config, but on my system that directory didn't exist at all. `aptitude reinstall xutils-dev` did the trick, and reinstalled the missing files (within the right directory, this time). Bug#362977: i855G support in Debian
Hi! Is there any progress which can be reported on this bug? As the last X.org version in Debian which works with i855G chipsets (or at least, with my notebook which contains this chipset) has been 6.8.2 which is not even in Testing any more since months, my installation starts to get a bit messy with that many packages held and I do not have DRI GLX any more ATM. Who's affected by this bug, anyway? It can't be all i8xx users, the bug report is too silent for that... Sorry if I'm stepping on your nerves, I just fear that Debian Etch could ship with a broken X server so that lots of poeple would not be able to use it without annoying manual tweaking and using inofficial packages. i8xx are common chipsets after all, so I'm suprised Debian has such serious problems with it for such prolonged periods of time...
