Bug#393113: marked as done (compiz-core: Missing dependency on mesa-utils)
Your message dated Mon, 06 Nov 2006 20:32:27 -0800 with message-id <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and subject line Bug#393113: fixed in compiz 0.2.2-1 has caused the attached Bug report to be marked as done. This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with. If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith. (NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I am talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact me immediately.) Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) --- Begin Message --- Package: compiz-core Version: 0.2.0-1 Severity: normal The compiz wrapper script uses the glxinfo command, however, the package apparently has no dependency on a package that includes this command. I was able to install compiz-core using apt-get without glxinfo being pulled in. glxinfo is part of the mesa-utils package. I don't know if it also available from some other alternative package. My guess is not given that mesa-utils has no conflicts. I am guessing this issue can be fixed by adding mesa-utils as a dependency. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing-proposed-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-proposed-updates'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-2-amd64-k8-tirith Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages compiz-core depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-4GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgl1-mesa-glx [ 6.5.0.cvs.20060524-1.1 A free implementation of the OpenG ii libice6 1:1.0.1-2 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libpng12-01.2.8rel-5.2 PNG library - runtime ii libsm61:1.0.1-3 X11 Session Management library ii libstartup-notifi 0.8-2 library for program launch feedbac ii libx11-6 2:1.0.0-9 X11 client-side library ii libxcomposite11:0.3-2X11 Composite extension library ii libxdamage1 1:1.0.3-2 X11 damaged region extension libra ii libxext6 1:1.0.1-2 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxfixes31:4.0.1-4 X11 miscellaneous 'fixes' extensio ii libxinerama1 1:1.0.1-4.1X11 Xinerama extension library ii libxrandr22:1.1.0.2-4X11 RandR extension library Versions of packages compiz-core recommends: ii compiz-plugins0.2.0-1OpenGL window and compositing mana -- no debconf information --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Source: compiz Source-Version: 0.2.2-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of compiz, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: compiz-core_0.2.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/c/compiz/compiz-core_0.2.2-1_i386.deb compiz-dev_0.2.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/c/compiz/compiz-dev_0.2.2-1_i386.deb compiz-gnome_0.2.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/c/compiz/compiz-gnome_0.2.2-1_i386.deb compiz-gtk_0.2.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/c/compiz/compiz-gtk_0.2.2-1_i386.deb compiz-plugins_0.2.2-1_i386.deb to pool/main/c/compiz/compiz-plugins_0.2.2-1_i386.deb compiz_0.2.2-1.diff.gz to pool/main/c/compiz/compiz_0.2.2-1.diff.gz compiz_0.2.2-1.dsc to pool/main/c/compiz/compiz_0.2.2-1.dsc compiz_0.2.2-1_all.deb to pool/main/c/compiz/compiz_0.2.2-1_all.deb compiz_0.2.2.orig.tar.gz to pool/main/c/compiz/compiz_0.2.2.orig.tar.gz A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Drop the 'water' plugin because our X server does not support it yet. * Drop --disable-kde from the configure flags because it is now disabled by default. * Add a dependency on mesa-utils to compiz-core to provide glxinfo that is needed by the compiz wrapper. Bug#395025: The new driver fixes the problem for me
The new version (1.4.4) of the driver fixed this problem for me. It is a G400 card and all mesa applications frozed the system with the current version 1.4.2. By the way I had to recompile the driver. The proposed binary package attached in a previous message in the bug report is linked against the libc library from experimental and not the current one in etch/sid. Bug#397323: Follow-up: AltGr key not working anymore
Just a clarification: by third level symbols, I mean, on belgian keyboards, pressing AltGr and '&' to get '#', and so on. Pascal Dupuis -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#397323: xkb-data: AltGr key not working anymore
Package: xkb-data Version: 0.9-4 Severity: normal Hello, since the upgrade around October, 20th (I only performed it today), the AltGr key does not produce third level symbols. Setup is as follows: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Generic Keyboard" Driver "kbd" Option "CoreKeyboard" Option "XkbRules" "xorg" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "be" Option "XkbOptions""lv3:ralt_switch" # Option "XkbCompat" "pc" EndSection I added te XkbOptions after searching google on similar problems, as well as XkbCompat. No change. The Xorg.0.log contains around the end: (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Generic Keyboard" (type: KEYBOARD) xkb_keycodes { include "xfree86+aliases(azerty)" }; xkb_types{ include "complete" }; xkb_compatibility{ include "complete" }; xkb_symbols { include "pc(pc105)+be+level3(ralt_switch)" }; xkb_geometry { include "pc(pc105)" }; (WW) Couldn't load XKB keymap, falling back to pre-XKB keymap I also noticed there was a few remaining dirs from the past: /etc/X11/xkb, renaming it to xkb.orig didn't help either. Any hint ? Which supplemental info should I provide ? Bug#392500: Have you tried mga 1.4.4?
Have you tried the new driver xserver-xorg-video-mga-1.4.4? I made a .deb of this driver, see attached file in bug 395025. In case it works we should convince the Debian X Strike Force to upgrade the 1.4.2 driver to 1.4.4. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
