From what I've seen in this message, Alan's questions are mostly
related to the techniques of gettextification. This goes outside my
own field of expertise but I think that discussing that topic could
maybe be in the scope of some of the people in the debian-i18n crowd.

Please followup over there if you have the required skills...

Daniel,

I remember the discussion about this multidomain PCI patch, but I
guess I'm not up-to-date on it. Is there such a patch against current
xorg? Can you point me to it? Have you tried building the xserver
with that patch and testing it on your box?

Best regards,

Tried it, doesn't work. Same thing

I do not know how to do this. I set several mode lines, X ignores all lines
I try and uses it's own.

Hi!

This is a well known bug in the savage x driver. Reassigning and merging
accordingly.
The xorg people are kindly asking for good backtraces. Maybe you can help
them.

First you should mount the kernel, in such way you can never install on a MIDI
AGP window for getting access over a hardware of the menu of the DVD BIOS.

I've been using git for sometime to maintain our specific patches of
debian packages, where I work, and I found it very useful if used
together with stgit. Looks like it could be a nice alternative to
quilt once we move to git for X.org packages.

What you all think about it?

Don't use xsfbs anymore until there's an easy way to keep it up-to-date in

I don't have an account on alioth. Maybe I'll try a new drm/mesa combo
soon, because I have some regular lockups too (daily), which didn't
happen without compiz. But last time I tried drm/mesa from git/cvs were
quite unstable.

I am unable to reproduce any of these on my i915-based card. They could be
r300 specific.

Which exact version are you running? If you have an account on Alioth you can
clone the git repository where I've just packaged the latest upstream version
(0.3.4):

$ git-clone ssh://alioth.debian.org/git/pkg-xorg/app/compiz.git

Does anyone know how to access these anonymously?

If that doesn't work I'd say it's most likely an r300 issue. You could try a
combination of new libdrm and Mesa, but that is pretty hard to setup
currently.

Looks like you are hitting bug #394465. As a workaround, try removing
'unix/:7100' from your font path. The bug is fixed in the svn, and the
fixed server is going to be uploaded some time this week.

At comment #11 Kevin Martin says what it did to fix the problem,
looking at those two GIT commits and doing what he did should fix the
problem.
It is hitting badly to DOSEmu users too (no accents or international
keyboard characters work on DOSEmu).
Thanks for looking into this.

Re: xcursor-themes 1.0.1-5 crashes my Debian image running on coLinux...

2006-11-22 Thread Ionreflex

Update : the command "dpkg --configure -a" pass this morning... just tried
it again, it went through without any fuss! Sorry about this.

2006/11/19, Ionreflex <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

I'm not an expert, but since the 1.0.1-5 version was moved to testing,
it's impossible to finish the configuration of the package, it simply kills
the coLinux process; "dpkg --configure -a" ends with the same results,
manual installation with .deb package also.

Here is the info given through debug :

Setting up xcursor-themes (1.0.1-5) ...
D20: conffderef in=`/etc/X11/cursors/core.theme'
result=`/etc/X11/cursors/core.theme'
D20: conffderef in=`/etc/X11/cursors/handhelds.theme'
result=`/etc/X11/cursors/handhelds.theme'
D20: conffderef in=`/etc/X11/cursors/redglass.theme'
result=`/etc/X11/cursors/redglass.theme'
D20: conffderef in=`/etc/X11/cursors/whiteglass.theme'
result=`/etc/X11/cursors/whiteglass.theme'
D02: fork/exec /var/lib/dpkg/info/xcursor- themes.postinst ( configure
1.0.1-4 )

Because I'm not an expert, I'm not pretty sure what could be wrong, didn't
find any info on the web, don't know what to do next, didn't fill a bug
report because maybe the problem could be on my side; if I can be of any
help, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hello,

	I use a SparcSTATION 20 with a CG14 framebuffer (8MB). I used Xorg 7.0

Since this upgrade, I cannot use Xorg. When I try to start Xorg, one of

Bug#399638: xterm: broken rendering in ncurses programs

Here's the output of the "appres XTerm" and "xrdb -query" on my machine.
Let me know if I can help you in any way to track this down.

Thanks for your work on XTerm! :-)

Maybe - if it were that simple, I think I'd be seeing more reports.

Here's an example of what I see with mutt running inside xterm:

thanks. I understand the report, but the specific item that you pointed
to in the changelog refers to repainting the whole screen when an
application assigns new colors.

The case that I've been investigating might be related (or I might simply
not see it due to different resource settings). It might be helpful to
see what "appres XTerm" (or the xrdb output), so I can check that.

I am seeing the same problems using "make menuconfig" on a kernel source,
or in midnight commander.

What do I do to set a reduced blanking mode? I'll try the "HIGH" sometime
this week.

The case that I've been investigating might be related (or I might simply
not see it due to different resource settings). It might be helpful to
see what "appres XTerm" (or the xrdb output), so I can check that.

If

Option "DisplayPriority" "HIGH"

doesn't help, a reduced blanking mode might.
