Bug#427384: compiz broken in lenny after libc6 upgrade
Package: compiz Version: 0.2.2-1 Followup-For: Bug #427384 xserver-xorg-core 1.3 made compiz start, but with black frames around windows instead of shadows (Intel i810). I don't know if it's important, because I don't know what it means, but it is also there when I start compiz with the old libxrand2, and causes no problem there: When I start 'compiz --replace', it says: libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x5b libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x5b /usr/bin/compiz.real: No stencil buffer. hi, upgrading xserver-xorg-core to the unstable version 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg6 everything works ok for me. I have the same warnings than Peter, but window shadows are ok, and no black boxes appears. Bug#331435: xserver-xorg: Same problem after recent upgrade(s)
Package: xserver-xorg Version: 1:7.2-3 Followup-For: Bug #331435 Hello. The last reply about this bug is fairly old. Was the cause found? Bug#427384: compiz broken in lenny after libc6 upgrade
Like Diego, after upgrading xserver-xorg-core to the unstable version 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg6 everything works ok, using the most recent Lenny packages (libxrandr2 2:1.2.1-1). Using i810 (Intel 945GM onboard) on a Core2 Duo. I did witness the black or white shading problems Peter mentions earlier after this morning's updates to Lenny, when I still had libxrandr2 pinned to the stable version. I suspect that shading problem was caused by the libgl1-mesa-* updates (haven't tested this claim, just a gut feeling). But again - the unstable xserver-xorg-core version solves it. Bug#427798: xterm: request for exit hook
Package: xterm Version: 225-1 Severity: wishlist It would be useful to have the ability to run a script just before xterm is about to exit. The script should have access to the following information in some way: * the exit status of the subprocess if it has terminated (thus causing xterm to exit); * the terminal data. Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) ---BeginMessage--- Package: compiz Version: 0.2.2-1 Severity: important Hi, Given there probably aren't many compiz 0.2.2-1 users in lenny, I'd thought I'd report this. I'm using KDE 3.5.5 and compiz worked wonderfully before 02/05/07 where the libc6 upgrade and a slew of other packages came through. After this upgrade compiz has failed on two machines here with KDE. One's an IBM X40 Thinkpad with and intel GFX card while the other is a 3200+ AMD (32-bit lenny) with an NVIDIA card. Both machines show the same problem, and that's although compiz loads as it did before, you can't see much changing on the screen. So for example, although I'll click the 'k' for the KDE menu, you don't see it come up, however it is there if you click where the menu items would be. Similarly, if you pressed control-alt-delete and then press 'alt-e', KDE will log out gracefully. I don't know what could have happened however I fear that it'll be some time before a usable KDE and compiz in lenny will be available again :( Maybe it's time to push through 0.3.6 ;0) Thanks for your time. Hi Erich, Does this RandR problem under compiz still occurs with latest compiz 0.5, xserver-xorg-core 1.3 and xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.0 currently in unstable? RandR 1.2 support might changed things here. Brice -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Bug#415227: Compiz interferes with Screensaver -- unable to unlock a session
I wonder whether this bug is actually in compiz and not in gnome-screensaver. There are some known problems with non-trivial X config in gnome-screensaver, for instance randr-1.2 dual-head [1], which lead to the unlock window not being displayed at all (but entering the passwd unlocks and restores the display fine). Conditions are different here, but the result looks similar. Did any of you guys reproduce with another screensaver instead of gnome-screensaver? Bug#326956: xserver-xorg: Still reproducible
Hm... Brice Goglin schrieb: Friedrich Delgado Friedrichs wrote: Package: xserver-xorg Version: 1:7.2-3 Followup-For: Bug #326956 xserver-xorg does not matter here. This package basically contains nothing. The actual server code is in xserver-xorg-core, which you didn't upgrade to 1.3 (currently in unstable) from what I see in your log below. I did upgrade it. However I didn't restart my xserver after the upgrade :) Since the original submitter of this bug does not see the problem anymore with xserver-xorg-core from ubuntu feisty (1.2.99.something), the bug might be related to xserver-xorg-core only and fixed in 1.3. Is there a chance you upgrade to xserver-xorg-core 1.3 currently in unstable very soon? Yes, no problem... Bug#406417: Same problem with i915GM after suspending
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel Version: 2:2.0.0-4 --- Please enter the report below this line. --- My laptop with a i915GM was suspending to ram and to disk fine with the non-modesetting driver (i810), even if i had to use 915resolution to set the modes, vbetool to POST the video, and press the brightness keys for turning the backlight on again. Now with the modesetting driver the machine hangs even switching to the text console (CTRL-ALT-F1), and video doesn't come back after suspending anymore. I also had to increase the amount of videoram in xorg.conf because it was not able to activate DRI (not enough memory). --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 2.6.21.1 Debian Release: lenny/sid 990 testing www.debian-multimedia.org 990 testing ftp.de.debian.org 950 unstablewww.debian-multimedia.org 800 unstableftp.de.debian.org 700 experimentalftp.de.debian.org 600 unstablekanotix.com 500 unstablewww.in.fh-merseburg.de --- Package information. --- Depends(Version) | Installed -+-=== libc6 (= 2.5-5) | 2.5-9+b1 libdrm2 (= 2.3.0) | 2.3.0-4 xserver-xorg-core (= 2:1.3.0.0) | 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg-6 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Instead you can only resize it in certain increments based on the fixed-size font it's using. If you right-click on the titlebar of an xterm in compiz and choose Maximize, compiz will make it take up the whole screen, but it keeps jiggling and resizing and the size keeps bumping and shifting as it never gets the final size quite right. Interestingly enough, the xterm is still usable while this is going on, but the width and height of the display are going +- 1 row/column. Also, I can't reproduce this if the xterm is at the top of the screen. It may be related to the snap-to plugin? Bug#415227: Compiz interferes with Screensaver -- unable to unlock a session
Brice Goglin wrote: I wonder whether this bug is actually in compiz and not in gnome-screensaver. Brice [1] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=420339 Yes, of course. I don't think its related to the screen saver. Pressing F11 in gnome-terminal (full screen) has the same behaviour. Again, this only happens if the particular option we talked about before is in one of it's two states. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
