Bug#437321: xserver-xorg-video-ati: DRI enabled gives blank screen on Radeon Xpress 200M (RC410, 5a62)
I seem to have the same problem with my Radeon XPRESS 200M (PCI ID 1002:5a42) on an LG LE50 Express laptop whenever DRI is not disabled in xorg.conf - except that the screen is garbled instead of blank. Power button or SysRq-B is needed to reboot. This is with kernel 2.6.23-rc3 and xserver-xorg-video-ati 6.7.192-1. Marcus (Attached xorg.conf has DRI disabled again, otherwise it's identical.) Bug#440880: xserver-xorg-core: bad behaving clients can starve other clients
Package: xserver-xorg-core Version: 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg-12 Severity: minor Hello, I tried the xrender benchmark from http://www.freedesktop.org/~zack/xrenderbenchmark.tar.bz2, and when I ran it, it virtually locked up every other X client. I think this is a problem, although such clients are uncommon. Also, I think it would be quite hard to implement some kind of fairness in the xserver. Bug#440853: xserver-xorg-video-via: via driver makes machine perform poorly
Package: xserver-xorg-video-via Version: 1:0.2.2-2+b1 Severity: important This machine is a LTSP server serving 6 workstation plus a local user. Whenever xorg is using the "via" driver, eventually the machine starts to perform poorly: load average goes continually up; LTSP users feel the slowdown of the system; local user cannot use his desktop anymore. I'm not totally sure that this bug is related to the via driver, but reverting the Driver setting to "vesa" solves the performance problem and everything is usable again. Bug#436336: Ugh, incorrect problem description.

Computer boots up with vga console. X starts on vga. Switching back to terminal puts text console on dvi. My xorg.conf may be completely insane as regards the two methods of output. During the process of configuration I fought tooth and nail to get DVI to work at all. All of the relevant options are essentially undocumented. Bug#440802: xserver-xorg-video-ati: DPMS + suspend/resume, display never recovers

You should try with the latest driver, xserver-xorg-video-ati 6.7.192 which is currently in experimental. But you would have to upgrade xserver-xorg-core to experimental too. If you're afraid of that, I have rebuild 6.7.192 against unstable, the package is available from http://people.debian.org/~bgoglin/ati-for-sid/ Also, after suspend/resume (once DPMS is engaged and X does not recover), go to a virtual console and tell me what the following command line says (dpms lines at the end of its output): $ DISPLAY=:0 xset q Then try the following commands in case they help recovering: $ DISPLAY=:0 xset -dpms $ DISPLAY=:0 xset force dpms off Brice -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#440743: xserver-xorg-input-kbd: caps-lock led on thinkpad does not work anymore
Frank Gevaerts wrote: > Package: xserver-xorg-input-kbd > Version: 1:1.2.0-2 > Severity: normal > > > The caps-lock led on my thinkpad R52 does not work anymore since I > upgraded X to the version in experimental. > Same problem here on Thinkpad T43 and Dell D420, I am trying to know whether upstream devs are aware of the problem. It seems to be related to xserver-xorg-core 1.3.99 only since there are no code difference between xserver-xorg-input-kbd in unstable and experimental. (apart from rebuilding against xserver-xorg-dev 1.3.99) Brice -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Bug#431925: xserver-xorg-input-evtouch: Doesn't move pointer and most times crashes X on
I've also faced consistent crashes of X server anytime I've touched the touchscreen on my unstable at amd64(x86_64). After a lot of trials and errors with the package source I've found a fix: Add the following code snippet to the beginning of libtouch.c : #ifdef HAVE_CONFIG_H #include "config.h" #endif The include was present in evtouch.c but was missing in libtouch.c. It's been 10 years since I coded in C last time, so I don't exactly understand why this helps, but it does. It seems to be related to some x64 compile directive ? Someone knowledgeable may have an explanation ... Regards, Martin -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The next upload of libglu1-mesa will solve this (probably Mesa 7.0.2-1 then). In the meantime, people having this problem should use libglu1-mesa 7.0.1-1 (it will remain available in http://snapshot.debian.net/archive/2007/08/10/debian/pool/main/m/mesa/).
