You know, you should rather focus on asking/helping upstream to fix this problem. Reporting on freedesktop.bugzilla.org is more helpful than duplicating a bug report in Ubuntu and Debian. Bug#451791: 2:2.2.0+git200 (experimental) fixes problem for me (865G)
Hi Also had distorted rendering with xservers from unstable, apperently of transparent areas. Disabling antialiasing and shadowing fixed many problems. Interestingly iceweasel wasn't affected at all, while gimp was (and all qt apps I tried). Xserver 7.2-5 worked. xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.2.0+git20080107-1 works also Using "AccelMethod" "XAA" fixed it too with xservers which otherwise don't work (from unstable). This is a desktop machine with onboard graphics, I'm not sure it acutally uses frame-buffer compression. I'd be happy to help in tracking this down, just tell me what you need. Bug#446123: bugfix for endianness?
Ok, I can see why that is good coding practice on one level, but on the other hand a piece of code has been out in January 2008 which had been shown to be faulty months before in 2007. Maybe it should have been held out of circulation until the authors can come up with a solution? I noticed on the freedesktop.org bugerport that a fix for this problem was *not* going to be released. is this true? I am not the world's most confident builder/compiler, and don't fancy trying to build these packages from source, after patching same, if help is around the corner. Regards, Adam Bartley
Bug#460269: xkb-data: layout=us + variant=nodeadkeys breaks + ...
Package: xkb-data Version: 1.0~cvs.20070916-1 Severity: normal Hi, when I recently switched the x keyboard config from layout=de to layout=us, this broke +, ... i.e. switching to the ttys which didn't react at all. I checked a bit further and found this to be caused by the Option "XkbVariant""nodeadkeys" which was left from the previous config. After removing this, switching to the ttys worked again. Bug#460246: xkb-data: Cannot use numlock if placed on shifted key; invokes Pointer_EnableKeys
Package: xkb-data Version: 1.0~cvs.20070916-1 Severity: normal Some keyboards, such as those on many IBM ThinkPads, have the num lock key on the shifted scroll lock key. (Why they didn't do that the other way around I wish I knew.) As a result, when pressing num lock, it always gets interpreted with the shift modifier, resulting in Pointer_EnableKeys instead.
