Bug#494441: xserver-xorg-video-intel: X server crashes with "lockup" on G45 (X4500HD) chipset

2008-09-14 Thread Eric Sharkey
I upgraded to version 2:2.4.2-1 today, and the problem is not yet
resolved.

I cannot get the driver to run at 1080p/i at all. It tries to run at
1920x540 instead, and the display can't handle that. No amount of
manual modeline settings in the config file seem to make any difference.
I can't seem to override the ddc settings.

When running at 720p, the display does operate for about 10 - 15
seconds, then crashes.

Error in I830WaitLpRing(), timeout for 2 seconds

Lenny: Mouse freezes after kde ends a session and kdm reappears on Intel G35 chipset

2008-09-14 Thread Rainer Dorsch
Hello,

I have a reproducable issue on with an Intel G35 chipset using the Intel GMA
X3500 running Debian lenny with the latest updates of today:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -s xserver-xorg-video-intel|grep Version
Version: 2:2.3.2-2+lenny2
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -s kdm|grep Version
Version: 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-5
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

Whenever I end a session and kdm reappears (which happens as far as I
understand without restarting X), the mouse freezes and is placed in the
middle of the screen. The keyboard ist still working within kdm and I can
switch to virtual consoles. Crtl-Alt-Backspace restarts the X-Server and this
fixes then the mouse issue.

I checked Xorg.0.log on a virtual console, when the mouse hang. It contains
these lines towards the end:

(WW) Configured Mouse: Grab failed (Bad address)
(WW) Configured Mouse: Release failed (Bad address)

For reference, the full Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf are at

http://bokomoko.de/~rd/X3500/

Can anybody with confirm the problem? If yes, do yo have the same intel Xorg
driver and kdm?

Can anybody advice if and if yes, against which package I should open a bug
report? What information should be included?

Thanks,
Rainer

Bug#442879: patch updated

2008-09-14 Thread Greg Best Olszewski
Hi,

Last night I ran into another system broken by this bug. That prompted
me to show the patch to the owner of the broken system. He pointed out
that I missed the case of a leading slash. There's an amended patch at
the end.

So, now left I'm wondering why there's been no response to this for
six months. Did procmail eat my previous messages? Do others see
problems with the patch? I'd really appreciate some feedback, and
failing that, I'd be happy to see the patch applied; I'm getting tired of
going down the debugging path of "hey, X just exited with some
nonsense error about being unable to move a log file, what the hell?
Oh yeah. X11-common. Let me grab my patched version. Drat, it can't be
installed with the version of Xorg on this system; guess I need to
build some new versions."

I don't mean to complain, I really do appreciate having someone taking
care of the X server on my machines, and I'm open to other approaches
to fixing this, just let me know.

Thanks for your consideration,
Greg

Fat Injections For Buttock Enhancement

2008-09-14 Thread Crystal Ray

Fat Injections For Buttock Enhancement

Fat injections to the buttocks is an alternative treatment to
traditional buttock (gluteal) implants. Fat injections use the patient's
own tissues and one gets the bonus of cosmetic reduction in the harvest
site as well. Fat grafts, however, have a major disadvantage in that
their survival is not guaranteed. The concentration of fat and the
addition of platelet-rich plasma concentrate is my current approach to
improving fat graft survival, particularly in a large injection site
such as the buttocks.

The Pros And Cons Of Cosmetic Surgery

One of the many reasons why cosmetic surgery is so popular is
because it has a number of pros or plus sides. For starters, cosmetic
surgery can help to improve your appearance. Cosmetic surgery is
different than reconstructive surgery and many other lifesaving
surgeries, because it is optional. Those who undergo cosmetic surgery
are usually just looking to improve their appearance. As nice as it is
to look attractive, it is also important to note that you will likely
see an improvement in your self-confidence, as well as your self-esteem.

Hi,

I'm missing some compose sequences that I would have expected to be
there. I have these bindings:
keycode 21 = acute grave cedilla macron cedilla macron
Now these work:
 , c = ç
 ' c = ć
But these don't
 acute c
 cedilla c
etc.

I think they should, as it is obvious what the user wants when he enters
this.

Greetings,
Joachim

Add more Compose tuples

The last commit missed the el_GR UTF-8 Compose.pre as well as
the various ISO 8859 locales which have compose sequences
generating ‘WITH CEDILLA’ characters.

(Interestingly, some of the 8859 locales already supported
for some CEDILLA characters, but not
for Ç or ç.)

This is further work on bug 10397.

Bug#498915: xkb-data: Non-breakable spaces in Russian layout

2008-09-14 Thread Mikhail Ramendik
Package: xkb-data
Version: 1.3-2
Severity: normal
Tags: l10n

I have a Russian keyboard layout enable on an en_IE.UTF-8 locale. Here
are the lines from /etc/X11/xorg.conf:

Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "ie,ru"
Option "XKbOptions""grp:alt_shift_toggle,grp_led:scroll"

All spaces entered in the Russian layout are non-breakable spaces; this is
seen in applications like iceweasel and openoffice.org . In the Irish layout
spaces are normal.

I have found a workaround; adding ",nbsp:none" to the XKbOptions line allows
me to work as normal.

Filing bug against xkb-data as this is probably a keyboard layout data issue.
In particular, I suspect it has to do with the following line in
/usr.share.x11.xkb.symbols:

key.type[group1]="TWO_LEVEL";

This is an alpha-only error, downgrading to important as alpha won't be
released with squeeze. I'll send a patch for this upstream.

I understand. Xorg 1.5 is not planned for Lenny, AFAIK, so it's not
urgent.

I think this bug can be closed, but it's up to you.

Bug#498890: xserver-xorg: readlink workaround in postinst no longer needed

2008-09-14 Thread Jonas Smedegaard
Package: xserver-xorg
Version: 1:7.3+16
Severity: minor

Hi,

while looking for some clever debconf routines to reuse, I stumbled upon
an internal implementation of readline in postinst of xserver-xorg.

A comment indicates that the workaround kicks in, and is thus only then
relevant, when debianutils older than 1.13.1 is installed.

debianutils 2.8.4 is in oldstable, so it seems this workaround can be
dropped, simplifying that postinst a bit.

xserver-xorg-video-ati freeze exception

2008-09-14 Thread Brice Goglin
Hello,

I'd like to get xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.9.0-1+lenny4 unblocked.
It fixes the longstanding VT switching bug on M6 chips, and two output
configuration problems.
The other change from lenny3 is just reverted in lenny4 since it broke
more than it helped.

thanks,
Brice
