 compiz-* if libcompiz needs to be upgraded at the same time.  e.g.

One difference though: i am using version 2:2.7.0-1 from sid.

So i suspect a problem in xserver-xorg-core, which was upgraded this
morning.

My video card is a Intel Corporation 82946GZ/GL Integrated Graphics
Controller

compiz-core Breaks libcompizconfig 0.8.0; #523514

Bump the compiz-core Breaks on libcompizconfig0 to 0.8.0 as the last

Hi folks,

I wondered why some packages are still missing on i386 (and other platforms as 
well)
which are since days or even weeks in amd64 so I did have a look at the build 
logs

https://buildd.debian.org/fetch.cgi?pkg=libcompizconfig;ver=0.8.2-1;arch=i386;stamp=1240177588

and saw the same issue I reported 5 days ago. A missing build dep for 
compiz-dev (see
#524411).
I did build the package from source and can confirm the missing build dep on
libxcursor-dev is the only issue there.
As the package is on amd64 and everything is working there I can only assume the
maintainer didn't built his upload in a clean chroot / system which is his 
own.
It seems like maintainers tend to neglect other archs and I like to appeal to 
their
honour!
But then again... maybe he/they is/are just very busy at the moment, so please 
don't
take any offence :-)

Since the upgrade to the new version of the synaptics driver, I'm seeing the
MaxSpeed and AccelFactor settings not respond correctly. I'm running with HAL
disabled, so my settings should come from the commandline and from the
xorg.conf. The relevant section of xorg.conf is

When I start up, the cursor is too fast. So I run the following:

So at startup, MaxSpeed and AccelFactor do not reflect xorg.conf. Then when I
try to change them, AccelFactor and MaxSpeed seem to have a cap of 0.2 and 0
respectively. MinSpeed responds fine, though. After the attempted changes, the
cursor becomes too slow with no way to speed it up, because of the
just-mentioned limits.

Interestingly, if I use xinput instead of synclient to manipulate the settings,
the situation is a bit different:

So unlike synclient, xinput is able to change AccelFactor past 0.2, but MaxSpeed
is still stuck at 0. What I would really like to do is to have a high
acceleration and an high speed limit so that the cursor is both responsive and
accurate. I had settings that worked well in the older version of the synaptics
driver, but the new one is currently unable to do what I want. For reference, my
version of xinput is

Bug#525477: Missing install dependency - recompile needed (amd64)

The version of libcompizconfig0 (amd64) in sid is currently
uninstallable. It has a dependency on libprotobuf2, which has been
replaced by libprotobuf3.

The other architectures will be fine (I think) once they compile since
they'll pull in the newer package. The amd64 version compiled 1 or 2
days too early.

A straight recompile should fix the issue as libprotobuf-dev will pull
in the newer version.
