Bug#626337: Not fixed in upstream

2011-07-23 Thread Tobias Hansen

Hi,

I have the same problem, see merged bug #635143. I also tried using the
upstream git version, but the issue is still there.

Bug#635143: Also in Renoise

2011-07-23 Thread Tobias Hansen
The problem also occurs in Renoise (www.renoise.com), a closed source
application that doesn't seem to make use of SDL.

think.

Please try to capture the actual messages when the system suspends.
You'll need netconsole for that, since one of the first things the
kernel does at suspend is to freeze user space processes, including the
syslog daemon.
See http://blog.mraw.org/2010/11/08/Debugging_using_netconsole/
for how to set up netconsole.

How do you suspend your system? The most basic method,
"echo mem > /sys/power/state" is also the recommended one.

Cheers,
   Sven

Package: xterm
Version: 270-1
Severity: normal

If one uses the -h or -v option, but not as the first option, xterm
doesn't quit immediately.

One may want to use a wrapper in order to run xterm with user-default
options, e.g. something like

  /usr/bin/xterm -xrm ... "$@"

In such a case "xterm -v" no longer works as expected.

My guess is that the xressources aren't loaded correctly before xfwm4 is
started. As Xressources are only used for program started *after* they
are loaded, the fact that restarting xfwm4 fixes the issue means they
are loaded too late.

Can you check in gdm3 that the session you are using is “Xfce Session”
and not default X session or something like that (no idea how it's
called in gdm3).

Regards,

apparently reportbug didn't work for this user, that's why I ask for a
mail with you in Cc.

Beaver, it'd be nice to know whether the machine is responsive over the
network when this happens (can you log in using ssh?). Also, it would be
nice if you could collect the kernel logs; if they got stored on disk,
you should be able to pick them up from /var/log/kern.log (the date /
timestamp is at the beginning of each line, if you need to do any
filtering).

Mraw,
KiBi.

standby issue with nouveau drivers

2011-07-23 Thread Beaver

After switch from nvidia to nouveau drivers,
I can't put the computer in standby
(black screen, with flashing prompt,
after some minutes the computer shutdown)

glx alternatives point to the mesa implementation (verified by KiBi)

I report /usr/share/bug/xserver-xorg-core/script 3> /tmp/script.log

I'm doing that right now. Alon Levy is currently releasing 0.0.15
upstream (and either 0.0.15.1 or 0.0.16 right away since there was some
mistake), but I'll go ahead with what we prepared first, we can of
course push the new version right after that.

Yep, thanks. I added myself to Uploaders while I was at it, too. ;)

Bug#633343: xserver-xorg-core: No keyboard after fresh install

2011-07-23 Thread wiertel
A friend of mine had some problem with input devices in xorg. We used a
workaround - explicitly configure input devices in xorg.conf: in section
ServerFlags disable option AutoEnableDevices and add InputDevice section for
keyboard and mouse (the drivers we used were kbd and mouse from
xserver-xorg-input-{kbd,mouse} package maybe evdev would work as well).

Without it the only way we found to terminate gdm was using magic SysRq.

I could give you more details if you like, but using xorg.conf like back in the
old days should be enought.

I don't see any line like egrep 'Loading.*input' /var/log/Xorg.0.log in your
log. I'm quite sure there should be some.

Just to explain: there were three people answering the bug with "this
is not a bug in keyboard-configuration", and the bug was closed. So it
really looked like it would be refused to simply reassign the bug to
xserver-xephyr.

Hi,

As spice-protocol is in debian sid now, would you like upload qxl
0.0.14 to sid ?

BTW: I've added spice-protocol version number in debian/control, you
may just fetch and build it .
