Would you want to test an updated nouveau backport? From your
User-Agent, it looks like you're running amd64, so I've built a new
backport from the package currently sitting in unstable, against
squeeze-backports' server. You probably want to be running the latest
kernel too.

Backport temporarily available here (the package hasn't reached
testing, and I haven't discussed any plan about updating the backport
with Sven):

Have you reported these problems yet?

BTW, this is the *third* time you reported the missing backlight
control. Please stop this.

Yet another "me too" here. Precisely the same symptoms, precisely
everything.

Reverting to the version in 1.4.1-1+b1 makes everything work again.

Bug#651316: libdrm-intel1: X.org crashes when I try to play a video

2011-12-07 Thread Christophe Roland
Package: libdrm-intel1
Version: 2.4.28-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I am not able to play any video, I tried with mplayer and vlc, and X.org
crashed back to kdm login screen every time.

As far as I remember, libdrm-intel1 is the only x.org-related package which I
upgrated recently. Downgrading to libdrm-intel1 2.4.27-1 is a working
workaround.

This is just a symptom of some problem. At a minimum we'll need the
corresponding log, and some description of what you're doing when that
happens.

2011-12-07 Thread Stefan Lippers-Hollmann
Hi

We can confirm this issue on sandy bridge graphics (h67/ i7-2600k),
bisecting between 2.4.27-1 and 2.4.28-1 points at this patch:

From c549a777c1b6227a724942c64aa5cd181eb93c6c Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001

Reverting just this patch from 2.4.28-1 indeed fixes the problem again.
