Sometime, I can continue to work, as everything seems to work, but other times, I have to restart completely my X session: the cursor doesn't reply to left or right click, even the keboard seems to be unresponsive. My window manager (awesome) seems to suffer the most from this problem, since most of keyboard shortcuts don't work anymore after this problem occurs. I'm not sure if I can reproduce the problem at will, but scrolling really fast in my web browser seems to be a good way to make it crash. I replaced the Xorg.log below by the one I had with the problem in the synaptics driver. Hi everyone, attention please, Nicolas Le Cam niko.le...@gmail.com (28/04/2012): This bug seems to be fixed by commit 1a76d9f00e1e54ba912a47aa665968e0cfe1b8a0 found in version 1.5.99.904, as noted upstream in the bug report (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46617#c20). Thanks to Phil Colbourn for bisecting the regression and reporting the results to both debian and freedesktop. If so, where? And shouldn't unistd.h pull that in? No, the prototype is not defined anywhere, the function is available mainly for linking of old code. The key problem is that configure uses different set of CFLAGS compared to real build: checking for issetugid... yes and error: implicit declaration of function 'issetugid' [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration] OK. I guess this could be solved by adding AC_CHECK_DECL in addition to the existing AC_CHECK_FUNC and only using this function if both tests succeed. libx11 override disparity
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the override file for the following file(s): libx11-doc_1.4.99.901-2_all.deb: package says section is doc, override says libdevel. Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell, httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video, xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package at the next upload. Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the override is incorrect then please file a bug against ftp.debian.org and explain why. Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we won't be able to deal with your request due to missing information. Please make sure that the subject of the bug you file follows the following format: Subject: override: BINARY1:section/priority, [...], BINARYX:section/priority Include the justification for the change in the body of the mail please. [NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you already filed a bug and have not received a response yet, please ignore this mail. Your bug needs to be processed by a human and will be in due course, but until then the installer will send these automated mails; sorry.] -- Debian distribution maintenance software (This message was generated automatically; if you believe that there is a problem with it please contact the archive administrators by mailing ftpmas...@debian.org) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-x-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Thanks to Phil Colbourn for bisecting the regression and reporting the results to both debian and freedesktop. I was hoping that rc4 fixed that bug, but I didn't mark it as such in the changelog since I wasn't totally confident. Confirmation of âeverything works fineâ again welcome. Bug#670867: xv video rendering doesn't work on i830M
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel Version: 2:2.18.0-2 Severity: normal Playing back video on a i830M card shows a blue video the first time and X11 error: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation) the next times you try it. This is when using XV, if you try to render with X11 there is no problem at all. I have tested this on both mplayer and vlc, both behave similar. The computer is a Acer TravelMate 260 which used to work ok on squeeze (at least I seem to recall it was on squeeze). The only weird thing at that time was that I had to specify when using the i810 driver was VideoRam 16384 which doesn't seem to exist anymore. After trying to play video several times one looses the text cursor, which makes it difficult to write this bugreport, as well as some other text artifacts on xterm :-( Don't know what else to add, if you feel I'm missing any info, just let me know. However there are several bugs I'm running into which may be fixed by one of the two bug fix releases since 8.0, can you please package 8.0.2 into experimental if you get time. :) -J -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_NZ, LC_CTYPE=en_NZ (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Hi, uploaded earlier today, so closing. Jason alavaliant alavali...@gmail.com (16/04/2012): Not quite sure how to provide a patch directly but I did update the available 8.0-2 package sources to 8.0.2 and put the upload onto google docs (don't have a better web server available right now) Thanks, but next time, using git format-patch and git send-email make it trivial to send patches from a git repository to any mail address. Bug#665004: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics: scrolling stopped working after upgrade 1.5.0 -- 1.5.99
Works good. Both scrolling and scrolling speed. Thanks! Sent from a Nexus S! Thanks to Phil Colbourn for bisecting the regression and reporting the results to both debian and freedesktop. I was hoping that rc4 fixed that bug, but I didn't mark it as such in the changelog since I wasn't totally confident. Confirmation of “everything works fine” again welcome. But if you're still having issues, please file a new bug, one per submitter. Thanks already.
