This is happening with you guys or just me? Any idea?

Happens for me since xserver 1.15 or something (very recent update in
jessie). I don't have any input working in any way (kfreebsd 9.2 or
9.3) with slim. I'll try to allocate some time to fix that but can't promise
 anything currently.

Bug#712545: xserver-xorg-core: Xorg crashes when displaying pictures

Hi,

I guess debug of the nouveau code is relevant. Here is the bt of

Further I think that bug is important - raising sev.

 This might be https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71116.
Could you please test whether the attached patch for
 xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in wheezy helps?

For now I've solved my personal problem by pluggin in a ATI Radeon
4650 card and disable the on-board NVidia device - X-Server is
stable now. ;-)

I added radeon.agpmode=-1, X has now been running fine for 30 minutes or so.
With radeon.agpmode=1 I got no noticeable change of behaviour.

Thank you very much for your swift and precise help!

No worries.

BTW, if you or anyone else having stability issues with radeon KMS in
AGP mode could try if the attached kernel patch makes a difference, that
would be interesting.
