I translated the list I made before into a list of commands that may or
may not work, I haven't tested them:

sudo apt-get install build-essential devscripts

sudo apt-get build-dep intel-gpu-tools
apt-get source intel-gpu-tools
cd intel-gpu-tools-*/

Package: libxshmfence
Version: 1.1-2
Severity: important

Hi,

The libxshmfence package is explicitly setting the shared memory
directory to /tmp (with-shared-memory-dir) while the xorg-server lets
the configure script autodetect it (and then ends up using /run/shm).

These two package should probably use the same directory.

I would propose to use /dev/shm as it is the defacto-standard (eglibc
is using this), standard with the FHS and mounted by all the initsystem
(either directly or with a symlink).

Cheers,

Laurent Bigonville

Hebrew has a unique hyphen character, called
"Maqaf-katef" (the glyph is a lot like the
crossing of a t). Further, it is very rare to
use the underscore while writing Hebrew. This
patch adds a variant to the il keyboard mapping,
replacing the underscore with Hebrew Hyphen.
It was inspired by a posting by Tzafrir Cohen:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/kde-il/message/2491

Thanks,
  Shai.

Dear Maintainer,

according to the comment in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/altwin, the option
altwin(ctrl_alt_win) should map "Ctrl" to the Alt keys, "Alt" to the Win
keys, and "Win" to the Ctrl keys. However, it re-maps only "Ctrl" and "Alt",
which effectively removes the "Win" modifier from the keyboard.

Note that the help string in the Gnome system settings describes the actual
behavior, not the intended one. Hence, changing this mapping would make it
necessary to correct this string as well (and possibly also in KDE or other
programs).

Perhaps it would be better to simply correct the comment and add another
option that actually does what altwin(ctrl_alt_win) was supposed to do.

Package: libxkbcommon0
Version: 0.4.0-1
Severity: normal

Hi, I don't really know if this problem is from libxkbcommon0 or from xkb-data
but libsdl2-2.0-0 depends on libxkbcommon0 which depends on xkb-data, but you
can't install libxkbcommon0 for amd64 and i386 at the same time because (in the
case of amd64) when you try to install libxkbcommon0:i386 it says that xkb-data
in not available (which is already installed since libxkbcommon0:amd64 depends
on it), and xkb-data is marked as architecture = all.

Sorry if this report is not very well explained but English is not my native
language.

Thanks.
Ernesto

Package: xkeyboard-config

This is a forward of the Ubuntu bug https://launchpad.net/bugs/991002

We try to consistently use the name Bangla all over Ubuntu for the
language spoken in Bangladesh and in some Indian regions. This requires
changes to xkeyboard-config, where language names are hard coded.

We believe it would be a good idea to make this change upstream as well.

Package: xkb-data
Version: 2.10.1-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 libxkbcommon0:i386 : Depends: xkb-data:i386 which is a virtual package.
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

 Remove the following packages:
1) gnome-themes-standard:i386
2) libgtk-3-0:i386

Keep the following packages at their current version:
3) libxkbcommon0:i386 [Not Installed]

I do not want to do this, because 32-bit programs would look ugly. Because of
this dependency problem, I have had to hold back GTK 3 and several pacakges
from Gnome for the last few weeks.

As a user who hasn't done any debian packaging, I'd love a slightly
more hand-holdy explanation if a working package isn't forthcoming.
Sorry I can't be of any help at the moment.

Bug#715278: Any attempt to have intel-gpu-tools 1.6 which fixes this bug ?

Hi!

Do you guys need help? Updating the package to the latest upstream
version should be a no-brainer using the Debian git packaging tools
unless I am missing something here.

I'd be happy to NMU.

Bug#747893: Please standardize the shared memory directory

2014-05-12 Thread Laurent Bigonville
Package: libxshmfence
Version: 1.1-2
Severity: important

Hi,

The libxshmfence package is explicitly setting the shared memory
directory to /tmp (with-shared-memory-dir) while the xorg-server lets
the configure script autodetect it (and then ends up using /run/shm).

These two package should probably use the same directory.

I would propose to use /dev/shm as it is the defacto-standard (eglibc
is using this), standard with the FHS and mounted by all the initsystem
(either directly or with a symlink).

Cheers,

Laurent Bigonville
