Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
Installed Debian Jessie with firmware-linux-nonfree also installed.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
  Run Supertux 0.3.x or bzflag
   * What was the outcome of this action?
Tearing is noticeable near the top of the screen. Gameplay is normal.
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
  No graphical glitches whatsoever.

I'm afraid there's nothing actionable in this report, so I'm going to
close this. Such a bug would need a lot more detail and should be filed
upstream.

Bug#751757: xterm crashes when installing libreoffice with LANG=C

"unresponsive" could be due to the application sending any of these 8-bit
codes when it's not in UTF-8 mode:

ESC ]
Operating System Command (OSC is 0x9d).
ESC ^
 Privacy Message (PM is 0x9e).
ESC _
Application Program Command (APC is 0x9f).

> Adding
> debian:EBG_Elektronik_Sertifika_Hizmet_Sa?B??TAK_UEKAE_K??k_Sertifika_Hizmet_Sa?

...but I cannot tell exactly from this, because it's plain ASCII

See this in the manpage:

-k8 This option sets the allowC1Printable resource. When
allowC1Printable is set, xterm-dev overrides the
mapping of C1 control characters (code 128-159) to treat them as
printable.

(not a bug, but a feature)

Looks like your GPU has locked up.

This kernel is unsupported, please upgrade to a newer version (3.14 at
least) and retry.

That's really asking for trouble, you are using packages from
testing/unstable but have only stable in your sources.list?!

Rename Option "NoAccel" to "Accel"

Removes the need for a double negation when forcing acceleration on.

Note that this change is backwards compatible, as the option parser
automagically handles the 'No' prefix.

Dear Maintainer,

the release message for 7.3.0 states:

---
xserver-xorg-video-ati (1:7.3.0-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
* Explicitly disable glamor for now to prevent a FTBFS.
---

and that makes no sense. The source builds just fine if one fetches it
from upstream git repos. But maybe it doesn't build because there is no
debian package of glamor even though the source is sitting in git? Who
knows? Asking maintainers doesn't help because nobody seems to give a
f*ck and answers mails. Or is this a ubuntu-only party now? Other bug
reports (against -radeon) got no answers but rude comments and left
(reporting) users in the rain.

This change makes debian even more unusable if one happens to have a
recent radeon card. I would be happy if somebody could *explain* how to
solve that situation.

regards, frank

Bug#751769: libxp: run dh-autoreconf to update config.{sub, guess} and {libtool, aclocal}.m4

2014-06-16 Thread Breno Leitao
Package: libxp
Version: 1.0.2-1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Currently, the patch libxp fails to build on the new architecture (as ppc64el)
due to outdated autotool files, which cause the following problem on ppc64el:

http://ftp.unicamp.br/pub/ppc64el/debian/buildd-upstream/build_logs/logs/libxp_1.0.2-1_ppc64el-20140501-0452.build

This bug provides a patch that call dh_autoreconf to update the missing parts,
according to [1] recommendations. With this patch, the problem is fixed.

[1] -
https://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS#A2014-01-21_using_dh-autoreconf_during_the_build

Thank you,
Breno

+Subject: [PATCH mesa] targets/xa: limit the amount of exported symbols
+
+In the presence of LLVM the final library exports every symbol from
+the llvm namespace. Resolve this by using a version script (w/o the
+version/name tag).
+
+Considering that there are only ~35 symbols, explicitly list them
+to minimize the chances of rogue symbols sneaking in.
+
+v2: Conditionally include the version-script.

2014-06-16 Thread Stephan Goll
Package: xterm
Version: 278-4
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

some days ago I installed Debian 7.5, installed the xfce4 environment
and decided to use C as system language because it is the basic that
all system should understand. Today I installed libeoffice and after
some time the xterm window becomes unresponsible and the apt-get
process diapeared. In the xterm I can see the last lines:

Adding debian:GeoTrust_Universal_CA.pem
Adding debian:QuoVadis_Root_CA_3.pem
Adding
debian:EBG_Elektronik_Sertifika_Hizmet_SaÄBÄ°TAK_UEKAE_Kök_Sertifika_Hizmet_SaÄ

For me it looks like a internalisation problem in xterm, but I'm not
sure if it's caused by using problematic characters in the libreoffice
install scripts. Beside of this the apt-get seem to have finished it's
job, libreoffice seems to be installed.

Best regards,
Stephan
