Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.99.912+git20140719-1~exp1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Just some feedback as to the current state of xserver-xorg-video-intel
on ThinkPad T520 with Sandybridge graphics.

It works generally quite well.

But on some attempts to switch between two KDE sessions on different TTYs
I get a blank screen. Then the screen stays blank even if I try to switch
to text console at TTY1.

The machine still seems to be operational as SSD LED still blinks indicates
activity.

The only other thing I found so far is that switching between both KDE
sessions also takes unusually long. Almost like in pre-KMS times.

I switched back to version from unstable due to the blank screen issue.

Thanks,
Martin

Bug#748203: xorg-server: Please enable logind support

2014-07-24 Thread Laurent Bigonville
Hello,

So I've made some tests tonight and it seems to work.

I've added a patch that add initial support for this (didn't look at
the setuid wrapper yet).

It also requires xserver-xorg-input-evdev 2.9.0.

You can run the following command if you want to test (be sure you
have a logind session registered):

startx (or xinit) -- /usr/bin/Xorg :1 vt$XDG_VTNR

Note that the X server will run on the same VT as the one you typed the
command (#747882 should definitely be fixed).

Cheers,

Bug#755701: False positive

2014-07-24 Thread Martin Steigerwald
Hi!

I think the blank screen is due to a BTRFS hang bug in kernel 3.15 and 3.16.

BTRFS hangs then, processes go into D State, screen blanker wants to access
harddisk unblanking and hangs then to.

Feel free to close.

Ciao,

Bug#755921: libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg: debug version of i965_dri.so missing

2014-07-24 Thread Sven Joachim
On 2014-07-24 17:19 +0200, Tomas Janousek wrote:

> I found that there is no i965_dri.so in libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg. :-(

Here's the reason why:

,
| $ ls -1i /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/dri/
| 261000 dummy_drv_video.so
| 268110 i915_dri.so
| 268110 i965_dri.so
| 265826 nouveau_dri.so
| 268110 nouveau_vieux_dri.so

| 268110 radeon_dri.so
| 267876 radeonsi_dri.so
| 267965 swrast_dri.so
| 268009 vmwgfx_dri.so
`

So i965_dri.so has five hardlinks, but dh_strip can only strip it once,
and only one of those five names will end up in libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg.

I don't have a good idea how to solve that, maybe someone else has.

Cheers,
   Sven

Bug#749728: (no subject)

2014-07-24 Thread Breno Leitao
Hi Maintainer,

I am wondering if you have chance to look at this bug. I would like to say that
his bug is one of the most important bugs that are affecting ppc64el
architecture
right now according to the ppc64el top priority bug[1].

Since this is a bug that shouldn't cause any regression, I would appreciate if
you
accept it.

Thanks,
Breno

Bug#755921: libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg: debug version of i965_dri.so missing

2014-07-24 Thread Tomas Janousek
Package: libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg
Version: 10.2.4-1
Severity: normal

In trying to debug these:

[ 9026.379370] chrome[60459]: segfault at 170 ip ef44265d sp
ffd08e10 error 4 in i965_dri.so[ef12c000+591000]
[ 9026.529959] chrome[60545]: segfault at 170 ip ef43a65d sp
ffccc2b0 error 4 in i965_dri.so[ef124000+591000]
[ 9026.709062] chrome[60554]: segfault at 170 ip ef3eb65d sp
ffef8780 error 4 in i965_dri.so[ef0d5000+591000]

I found that there is no i965_dri.so in libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg. :-(

Comparing [1] and [2] it seems that this broke between 9.2.2-1 and 10.0.0-1.

Bug#754930: Possible solution

2014-07-24 Thread Javier Ortega Conde (Malkavian)
I had the exactly same bug and today I saw that I have some fglrx packages
with dpkg -l *fglrx*

So I purged all of them with aptitude purge ... and after reboot it works
again with aceleration.

Hope it helps you.

Bug#755809: xorg.conf.5 man page mentions an incorrect "Enable" option for Monitors

2014-07-24 Thread Tanguy Ortolo

Julien Cristau, 2014-07-23 16:10+0200:

I believe this patch is wrong.

How so? I would be happy to provide an updated patch if you tell me what
you think is wrong in it.
